We read reviews and saw that it seemed to be split between people having good food and others waiting way longer than is considered normal for a takeaway and ending up with cold food. Decided to order food for 1830, and did this via pre-order at 1530 (order confirmation and acceptance came through about 30 minutes later around 1600).
1830 came and went, followed up at 1850 and was told it was 5 minutes away and the food was being 'kept warm'. We voiced concerns that we wouldn't like a lukewarm curry and was assured it'll be fine.
1915 came and went, no food. Rung the less than helpful person on the end of the phone who told us it'll be there in less than 10 minutes and gave us a 15 discount (approx.) on our order.
It arrived a little bit before 1930, guy dropping off tried to pass it off as our fault for ordering chips with the meal and that this takes a long time. Then informs us he's not happy if a customer isn't happy. He must say that a lot I think, as his approach to customer service likely makes a lot of customers unhappy.
The food was a mixed bag, some of it was ok (bhajis, rhezala and chat) some less so (naan bread was half burnt & my tandoori mixed grill, especially the chicken on the bone was disgusting). All lukewarm and needing heating for 15 minutes in the oven. Chips, freshly made remember, were cold as well.
Whilst it's difficult to fully confirm the origin, we both had very (very) upset stomachs the morning after eating this. Everything else consumed prior to this going back days was routine food from sources and menus used by ourselves constantly with no issue.
If you really need a delivery it might be worth the gamble, if you can handle the potential poor service. Otherwise there's probably better in the area you can...
Read moreWe are vegetarian so we ordered four sides instead of main (which is what we have always done in Indian restaurants, and what the authentic dishes are in parts of India that do not eat meat).
All the food was cold (obviously frozen and microwaved) and still not hot enough even when we asked for it to be reheated.
We ordered matha paneer (Indian cheese with peas) which was off the menu, they said ok, but made us a tinned chick pea poured into a korma sauce. (why didn’t they just say no, they couldn’t make it, when we ordered?)
I asked for some hot water because the cold food is making my stomach cramped. They gave me warm water from the tap, and when I asked for boiling water, they told me they do not have a kettle or boiler?
I think the guy who served us tried his besti, but whenever we returned anything, there was a big discussion/argument in the...
Read moreOrdered from here the other night for collection and honestly, for what was supposed to be 45 minutes, it ended uo being like 20 minutes, was stunned.
Food was lovely, warm and great portions, better than others I've been too.
Loads of flavour and lovely naan bread.
Only issue we faced was a possible mix up or maybe we just didn't like the dish, but we ordered a portion if butter chicken and what we got tasted very much like a chicken korma, now this might just be how it's done there, but it just wasn't what we expected. However, despite this, the korma was very nice so we didn't feel like complaining. Hopefully next time we get to try the buttermilk as I imagine it's amazing.
Would highly recommend, quite nicely priced too for the portions we got, big chunks of meat, will be...
