Fireaway Pizza Gloucester — Restaurant in Gloucester

Generally we love Fireaway and have ordered several times before. Unfortunately we have been really disappointed tonight. We were on our way home on the train, so ordered using their own website for delivery between 10.30-45pm. The order arrived at 9.45pm (we could see on our home camera) and the driver called me and seemed annoyed we weren't here, despite me pointing out we had ordered it for later. He said we should have put it on the delivery instructions, but if their site offers a timeslot for delivery, surely that IS a delivery instruction?? Then he asked if he should take it away (well, er yeah, seeing as we aren't there!). When we got home, just before 10.30pm, I phoned the restaurant to ask what was happening, to be told the driver had just picked up our order and was coming soon. The woman there explicitly confirmed it was a fresh order. Well, it eventually arrived, and the driver had the cheek to blame us for his two trips and demand we give him a good review!! The food was very obviously the original order which has been driving around for over an hour!! We ate it because my kids were ravenous and we had no other food available, but luke warm soggy chicken strips and cold chewy old pizza - not pleasant - for which we paid over £45. Basically, don't expect them to follow delivery times, and be aware they'll LIE to you to save themselves the cost of their error. Dreadful customer service. Such a shame as their food is usually great, but I doubt we'll ever...

We have used Fireaway for quite sometime because it’s the only pizza my daughter will eat. It has a good balance of dough and toppings, mostly all of the time the pizza is cooked as it should be but on one occasion it was slightly overdone. We have collected on many occasions using the website to order and it gives a time to collect. We have arrived earlier than the collection time before and the pizza was ready and also arrived on collection time and pizza was not ready, there is no consistency. Delivery for us on most occasions is always way over the time stated, always over an hour and on one occasion over two hours waiting on a lunchtime. One time they forgot the milkshake so had to come back. We even tried Uber eats to see if delivery was quicker but still 1hours 30mins for delivery. When I phone after waiting 1 hour I always get told 5-10mins and it never is. Delivery times need to be sorted out as we are contemplating going elsewhere because of this hence the 3 stars...

Tried this place for the first time recently. The staff did seem to be a bit flustered in store with different things going wrong but they were polite and attentive despite this. I was pleasantly surprised with the pizza I ordered, it was nicely cooked with a good choice of quality toppings. Cookies were also good and overall not outrageously expensive either (Do not order from Justeat mind as they increase the prices-naughty.) My only issue was that they didn’t give me all the correct dips I ordered and seemed to have substituted one of the flavours, I’d rather be told if they had run out rather than just hoping I wouldn’t notice or complain. It’d be nice to be able to order a larger size pizza as they only seem to be 12 inch ones available, also I’m a big fan of a stuffed crust which wasn’t an option… Would definitely try again though if...
