Bed bugs!!! Me and my partner stayed at Central Hotel Gloucester mid september for one night in room 105. Upon waking in the morning we were covered in insect bites. When we looked at the bed, sheets and walls we saw lots of bed bugs crawling all over the place. We collected 15 of these in a glass in the room and immediately presented them to reception, and escalated to hotel management. After examining our injuries on return home, we each had around 150 all over our bodies! 150 each!!! On researching into the hotel further we were very disappointed to find numerous reviews on Booking.com, Google & Trip Advisor all reporting bed bugs at this hotel in the months leading up to our stay!! We’ve been even more disappointed to see further reviews of more people suffering bed bug bites at this hotel in the weeks after our ordeal, after we very clearly presented live and photographic evidence of the bed bug infestation, and our injuries to hotel management.
We had to dispose of our luggage, launder our clothes at very high temperatures and are hoping and praying that we have not brought this infestation back to our own house.
We really wish we had spent the time reading the other reviews before staying at Central Hotel Gloucester. We hope no one else suffers from this horrendous...

My friend booked room for 28 June ..arrived at hotel to find she made a mistake with booking ..spoke to reception it was a mistake ..she said it can't be change so we have to book another .so I payed for another room. .went in the room ..soon as I moved the bed pillows and end of bed throw there was blood hiding under them ..went contact reception. .she came and saw it .said it wasn't like that ..said she was going to call manager then reply manager said we had to stay in the room they wasn't changing the duvet or the room ..ask to speak to manager was giving a number called was told manager not available but they came with a new duvet. Spent the night ..next day ask for a refund for 28 of July ..was turned down repeatedly and told the booking will stay open then I was told i will be billed for the blood stains ..on the 28 of July turned up and was told we wasn't welcome unless we pay £100 .. £50 for new room and £50 for stains on duvet which we never did..which we declined of course. .can only assumed because of the letter to complained they was unhappy and show no care whatsoever. .this as not been a nice experience and would suggest everyone stay away from...
Read moreWe stayed at Central Hotel Gloucester hoping for a restful night, but it was anything but that. The fire alarm went off multiple times throughout the night and early morning – around 12:30am, 3am, 6am, 8am, and 8:15am.
We went downstairs the first time expecting an explanation or apology, but the receptionist said nothing. We only found out the alarms were faulty by overhearing another guest’s conversation with the staff.
we both desperately needed proper rest, and this completely disrupted our stay. The lack of sleep and constant disturbance made the entire experience extremely stressful and uncomfortable.
When we raised the issue with the hotel, they first offered a £15 credit, then increased it to £40, but only as credit toward a future stay – with no option of a refund. This is unacceptable, as we do not plan to return after such poor treatment and handling of the situation.
A faulty alarm going off all night is bad enough. But the lack of care, communication, and accountability from the roomsbooked customer service was even worse. If you’re looking for a peaceful, respectful stay – especially if you value your rest – I would strongly advise...
