Blackfriars Priory is an absolutely stunning and historic venue that offers an incredible experience for both visitors and those seeking a unique place for events. Stepping onto the grounds, you’re immediately transported back in time, with the medieval architecture and peaceful atmosphere making it a truly special location. The priory’s rich history is evident in every stone, and it’s a wonderful place for history enthusiasts to explore.

The building itself is beautifully preserved, with its high ceilings, ornate details, and quiet, contemplative ambiance. Whether you’re visiting for a tour or attending an event, there’s a certain charm about the place that makes it feel both grand and intimate at the same time.

The staff at Blackfriars Priory are friendly and knowledgeable, eager to share the history and significance of the venue with visitors. They truly bring the priory to life with fascinating stories and insights into the building's past.

For events, Blackfriars Priory is a standout choice. The venue offers a unique, atmospheric backdrop for weddings, concerts, and special occasions. Its combination of historical elegance and modern amenities creates an unforgettable setting for any celebration. The acoustics, especially for music, are fantastic, making it an ideal location for performances.

Whether you're visiting for its history or enjoying a special occasion, Blackfriars Priory is a place where the past and present come together beautifully. I can’t recommend it enough as a destination for anyone looking for a serene, memorable, and...

Blackfriars was one of the first wedding venues me and my Husband viewed, and we fell in love with it straight away, booking it 2 years in advance! We are both so happy that we made the decision to have our wedding in Blackfriars as it was everything we hoped for, and more! The team at Blackfriars were so helpful and guided us through all the planning along the way and went above and beyond when we had an issue with our caterers early in our planning. All venue visits were relaxed and they answered any questions we had. Our wedding planner even managed to arrange for a local, alcohol-free IPA to be supplied on our day for our alcohol-free guests and ensured that all the alcohol in our drinks package was vegan for us! The garden games went down so well with our guests to use in the sunny courtyard, and it was amazing to see all our family & friends having the best time. We loved all the extra touches that were provided like fairy lights, downlighters and candles and this made the venue look even more beautiful! The staff were fabulous on the day and made us feel so well looked after. All of our guests continue to comment on how beautiful and unique Blackfriars is as a venue too (which is the reason we booked it!) and how they also found all the staff so helpful on the day. We can't praise Blackfriars highly enough and would highly recommend booking your wedding...

We were lucky enough to have our wedding at Blackfriars Priory in April 2024. From the first moment we visited the venue, we knew it was the one for us. The architecture is stunning and never gets old - each time we visited in the run up to the big day, we were in awe of its beauty and how peaceful it was, despite it sitting in the middle of the city centre.

We dealt with Matt as our wedding coordinator who was incredibly helpful leading all the way up to the wedding day and never got annoyed with all the little questions we had. He was informative and made us feel like the day was in safe hands.

The venue had everything we needed and gave us the flexibility to really design our wedding how we wanted it, rather than having very strict options as some venues do. We had complete freedom and creativity to set up the space how we wanted, choose our suppliers, and make the day our own.

One of the biggest perks for us is that they are dog friendly, which meant we could have our beloved boy with us all day too.

Thank you to everyone at Blackfriars who made our day so special. We can't wait to visit again in...

We got married at Blackfriars Priory on 28/10/2023. We can't thank Hebe and the Blackfriars team enough for all of their help and support, both on the day itself and in the months leading up to our big day. The day ran so smoothly, all the logistics were taken care of without us having to worry. We had a bagpiper in the morning and a Ceilidh in the evening which were so much fun, and again easily accommodated by the team. The venue itself is stunning and lots of our guests commented on how impressive it was. Obviously as a large and very old building it can get chilly in the Autumn/Winter, so we did prep our guests to bring layers! One perk for us was being able to set up the venue the day before. Seeing it take shape and not being rushed at all meant we could really enjoy the build up to the big day :) Thanks again Blackfriars team!
