Just had a visit here today and had a bad customer experience. I am a regular at this subway and come here every week. I am friendly to the staff and I have a bit of banter and chit chat. I always felt like I am welcomed here, however with today's experience i have been left with a bit of sour taste. Before I say about the situation I just want to add that I could tell the staff were very busy, so i purposely sped up my order so they could serve other customers to, I was actually helping by not taking my time. I work in retail myself so I understand how it can sometimes be stressful.
On to the situation- got to the till and I asked for a cup drink of diet coke. (Originally I was not told that it wasnt filled up). The lady pointed at the coke zero and said what about this one. I said * no id like diet coke cup drink. I'm guessing at this point it rattled the guy who was in a black t shirt serving other customers at the time. He said to me * I have been non stop for two hours so haven't filled it! I put an exclamation mark because he shouted it across to me infront of other customers as well. I felt so stupid at this moment. Got spoken to like dirt, like I should of known it was not filled up Or maybe he thought i was being rude but I weren't. I don't even like coke zero. He doesn't need to tell me how he's been busy for two hours, to make me look bad. All he could of said was that it's not working or maybe put a sign infront of it, but instead he chose the rude method. I just want to add that the woman serving me is very quiet and the communication was not clear. I would of rather she told me about the diet coke, than being shouted at across the room from another...

That said, there's no getting around how poor the service here was -- the queue wasn't even out the door, but it took 35 minutes for us to get our food. Even after we placed our order, we still had to wait 15 minutes to get our sandwiches because of three orders that had been messed up in front of us.
The staff were friendly enough, but didn't seem to work well under pressure, which led to poor communication between them and some staff seemingly doing nothing at times. My wife was asked three times whether she wanted her sandwich toasted, and when I ordered a drink I got a cup that was only about two-thirds full (which they sorted once I pointed it out).
The only saving grace is that you know what you're getting with a Subway, so the food was as tasty as you'd expect, but given how dirty the restaurant was too it's really hard to see any positives with this place. Maybe we just ended up being there on a bad way, but I still would have expected much better of such a...

I visited this Subway today (30/08/25) for lunch and what I witnessed was extremely concerning. The staff preparing the sandwiches were using the same knife to cut all subs without cleaning it in between.
Hereâs what happened: ⢠Two staff members were making sandwiches at the same time. While one was still adding vegetables to the customer before me, the other staff member cut my tuna mayo sub using the knife. ⢠Once the first sandwich was finished, the same knife was then used again to cut that customerâs sub, which had multiple meats, sauces, and vegetables. ⢠The same knife was later used for my boyfriendâs chicken tikka sub, which also had different sauces and veg.
This means all the sandwiches were cross-contaminated. For anyone with allergies or dietary restrictions, this is a serious health risk and completely unacceptable.
When I raised this issue with staff, the excuse given was that âthey only had one knife.â Even if that were true, it is still no excuse for not cleaning the knife properly...
