A highly recommended treat!

As a surprise, I brought my wife here for Royal Afternoon Tea and she absolutely loved it! Admittedly, no tea was consumed, instead she opted for a flight of champagne, which consisted of 3 small glasses. The glasses seemed a decent size to me and at £15 seemed very good value considering the quality of the bubbles in them.

The food itself was well presented and everything looked freshly prepared. There was a lot to get through and staff were offering to box up food that people couldn't manage to finish on several tables.

I mentioned in my confirmation email it was my wife's birthday and part way through the afternoon one of the staff presented her with yet another cake on a long plate, with 'Happy Birthday' written in chocolate.

We highly recommend this for anybody looking to experience high quality afternoon tea. The music, the atmosphere created by the staff and the quality of the food made it a very memorable afternoon.

We went here for my sisters birthday , my sister ended up having an allergic reaction to a nut in one of the cakes . On our behalf we did not tell the staff she had an allergy to them as it’s not a severe case of nut allergy all she needed was an anti histamine (allergy tablet) from the pharmacy or from the car. We repeatedly asked for any sort of allergy tablet , it baffles me that such a High established place does not have any sort of anti histamine. However the main reason for this review , the staff horrendous!! we got no help , -None of the staff members even offered her a drink , baring in mind her whole throat swelled up!! we got told IT WAS OUR OWN FAULT! we didn’t even get asked if we needed any help or support! General manners! I’m absolutely appalled by this behaviour and would never go again and will be advising people on social media of this awful experience and to not go there!! Worst customer service we’ve ever...

Worst afternoon tea, they don’t cater for anyone with allergies they say you can swap any of the sandwich it’s preset so if you have a fish allergy tough basically. We were a party of 8 for a special birthday we had to go find a member of staff to ask when the food was coming, we then didn’t see anyone else so had to go to the bar for drinks. They then have the cheek to put optional service charge on £36 for service we didn't receive, which at that point we just wanted out after a ruined 60th birthday meal so didn’t actually notice it was optional until too late. I tried ringing the restaurant to complain but to my surprise no one there to deal with it. Considering the amount of money they charge the food was mediocre at most and nothing explained to us when it was placed on the table. I will be recommending that people avoid...
