Bettys Tea House in Harlow Carr Gardens — Restaurant in Great Britain

Disappointing experience today. We ordered soup and a bread roll which is advertised on the menu as one item. The assistant charged us extra for the bread roll. We queried this. The supervisor came and backed up the assistant. We protested that the menu showed that the roll was included but she insisted it wasn't. We said that we had been coming for the previous six weeks and had the item included, but the supervisor said this must have been a mistake. Only when a customer behind us confirmed that the menu quite clearly showed 'soup and a bread roll' did the supervisor relent and very grudgingly give in, whilst continuing to insist that the bread roll shouldn't be included and that she would be following up on it. She didn't apologise and her manner was completely unacceptable. Considering the prices charged, we expect better service than this. We have fed back directly to Betty's about this experience. Oh - the soup and roll...

A Betty's in the fantastic Harlow Carr Gardens. A great sausage roll and hot coffee for early morning horticultralist too the picnic you forgot to pack. Sandwiches made with bread baked that morning at Betty's Craft Bakery. Fresh fat rascals or fondant fancy, picnic or high tea on the go. Ice cream for the kids and ample outside seating. Like Harwood House gardens and Valley garden perfect for a nature break. My 3 favoutite destination when I had my toddlers up to pre school and beyond. Great for play dates and grandparent meet ups. And on the way home a quick stop at Betty's Harlow Carr for my favor quiche and cheeky rascals at Betty's Shop. If I'm blessed with grand kids in the future happy...

Was disappointed as no rarebit scones and no suggestion of obtaining any in the meantime...it was before noon. Also the server asked if my sister and I were together and when I said yes she ignored us and served the people behind without asking if either of us was being served already, which we weren't. Also as lovely as some Bettys products can be over £6 for a cheese and chutney sandwich (the only veggie alternative) is eye watering! 2 slices of bread, some cheese and chutney plus about 2small green leaves does not justify the...
