Cafe Tea Rooms — Restaurant in Great Britain

Avoid.

Visited there on the 25/06/23. We ate outside. The food was over priced and pretty grim, reheated in the bag sort of stuff, tasteless bright green ice cream (generous portion, I suppose they were desperate to get rid of it?). It was so bad we had a good laugh afterwards. I think the tea was ok and maybe one of the cakes.

Maybe they had an off day or something had gone wrong? As you couldn't eat inside on a very windy day... If we had stuck with tea and cake and avoided the toasted cheese sandwich, other savoury stuff and the ice cream, things might had been different.

As I said, it was last year, it was mainly shutdown and other people's experiences may have been better. However we shall never go...

I oderered a Flat White, a Capuccino, a Blackcurrant ice cream, a plain flapjack, and a cold sausage roll for our dogs to share. The ice cream was blackcurrant colour, that was the only blackcurrant think about it, cold and tasteless, my wife didn't like the flapjack, passed it to me, I took a bite and spat it out in the grass, one of our dogs wouldn't eat the sausage roll, the two coffees were equally tasteless and watery....overall, possibly the worst cafe experience I have had in...

Clearly hoping to cash in on the national trust cafe next door. Food is expensive. Had the steak pasty, but definitely came from a mass produced factory, and was low grade quality. Drinks, they do have alcoholic ones available, but the soft drinks from a mixer were nasty. Seating is benches outside, next to car park. This could be a real money earner, but it’s just being done wrong here n so many ways. Once experienced...
