Awful!!!!
Having played here a number of times before and loved it when a client wanted to meet for golf I suggest Collingtree
We both drive over 1.5 hours each way and to say we were disappointed would be a massive understatement.
There is no mention on the website or when you book, or from the staff at the course, that they have sold part of the land for housing and ripped the course apart.
Not only that but it isn't finished.
You play the back nine first and they haven't even bothered to change the markers at the tees!
Massive walk to get to the 10th tee, which is the old 2nd, and we met a four-ball who were told the first was over the road so spent twenty minutes looking for it and when we put them straight they were still a good five minutes from it.
You can't use any GPS for distance as they have no idea what hole you are on and the old 9th for instance, the signature hole, is now a par four not 5.
Temporary green on the old 9th which is basically a small circle on the fairway MD a pathetic par 3 to finish which has been dumped in!
To summarise this has definitely gone from my favourite course to my worst.
Would never have paid £32.50 each for this and embarrassed myself in front of an important client.

The course design and layout is fantastic. Holes are tough but fair and are a really nice setting. With the clubs credentials holding some fantastic events I was thoroughly looking forward to playing
The condition of the course was so disappointing. The place looks so scruffy, fairways and bunkers look really tired. The course just looks un cared for. The greens are horrific! They are diseased and in my opinion are too far gone to recover. They are almost unplayable, it was such a shame
The staff in the clubhouse are a complete shambles as well. They cant get food or drink orders right.
The pro shop shop and range are not in a good way either.
This place needs money pumping into it desperately. It's such a shame to see such a great place so tired and scruffy. I hope they can turn things...

I decided to head up to Northamptonshire this weekend to test out what was on offer. I was not disappointed. Collingtree is a delight, greens were absolutely on fire, fairways awesome. Lots of memorable holes with water galore. I played the front nine with a few members who explained the schedule of works that the course has recently undergone and the planned works ahead, it seems a lot is in store for Collingtree which can only be a benefit. Its a really good looking course, the modern club house sits opposite the island green of the par 5 18th. The course practice facilities are also great. Friendly staff were the cherry on the top, as far as Northamptonshire courses go I have only played two so far but I would say this is a course to rival many even outside...
