Very enjoyable meal! This restaurant is clearly doing something right, because it was pretty much full from when we arrived at half six until near eight o'clock at which point the tables were beginning to empty - and this on a Wednesday evening. Despite being busy it wasn't too noisy to hold a decent conversation.

There's a very good choice on the menu, from budget pasta dishes to sirloin steaks. We had starters (a good minestrone and a particularly good prawn cocktail), pasta for mains and sweets.

Service was generally very good, friendly and efficient. The only negatives were a cancelled glass of wine appeared on the final bill (but this was quickly corrected once the error was pointed out) and the sweets were clearly bought in. Nevertheless it was good food and good value....

I would highly recommend this place. We visited while spending the weekend away here and chose this place based on the online reviews and recommendation of the locals. We were not let down at all. The food was extremely good. I went for the goat's cheese starter which was amazing and honestly the best one I have ever had. For my main I enjoyed the pan fried chicken, which again was lovely. However i think my partner won the mains round with the fillet steak, it was cooked to perfection and would be my choice next time. The staff were all friendly and helpful which added to the overall relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere of the place. Located up an alley just off the Front Street, Deano's is Chester-le-Street's hidden gem of a restaurant. Italian is my favourite cuisine and I've eaten a heck of a lot of it over the years, and the food at Deano's is way up there with my favourites. The restaurant has a warm and homely vibe with a friendly, casual atmosphere. The staff are welcoming and attentive, and food is served quickly and piping hot no matter how busy the restaurant is. All dishes I've tried so far have been excellent to exceptional with all friends and family saying the same. Prices are very reasonable, possibly too cheap considering the quality of the food!
