Having eaten here on numerous occasions previously last night’s experience was really disappointing. The redeeming feature was the food which was very tasty as usual however some very basic items that we ordered (vegetarian spring rolls for instance) were not available so the ordering process turned into a farce. It would have been easier if they had told us what was unavailable when they gave us the menus. The restaurants Google listing says that they are open until 10:30pm on Fridays and Saturdays, we had booked for 8pm and ordered our food by 8:20pm and the starters and main course were served reasonably quickly. We asked to see the dessert menu at 9:35pm but we’re told that the kitchen usually closed at 9:30pm but our (very pleasant) waitress would ask the kitchen if we could have our order which, in all fairness, they did however they turned off the music before we got our desserts and when we asked why we were told that the restaurant closes at 9:30pm and the music switched off automatically. This is on a Saturday night when we believed the restaurant was open until 10:30pm! We asked if they wouldn’t mind switching it on so we could finish our meal in the same ambiance that we had enjoyed previously but they said it wasn’t possible because the music switched off automatically and they didn’t know how to turn it back on. This made us feel that they just wanted us to leave so we paid (£230 for 4) and left having rushed our desserts and without having coffee. This spoiled our evening and I very much doubt that we will visit there again as there are so many other restaurants in the area that stay open beyond 9:30pm on a...

Upon entering, it was almost as if it was a shock to see me wanting to grab a table. There was no one that came to greet at the door, instead staff were chilling near the bar and I had to go to them. No eagerness. No drive. It almost felt as if they would rather be anywhere but here...

Upon being seated, I was surprised to see that the set menu for dinner was £5 more expensive on the menu than advertised outside...totally things up it did not seem to be much of a deal so we ordered the following which was brought to us with no much explanation:

Starters Platter for 2 - £20 - rolls and calamari were nice.

Mains Mama's Food - £18 - Pork belly was ok I guess . The broth was delicious.

Naughty Roti - £16 - Prawn curry was ok not amazing.

Desserts We weren't offered desserts 🙄 and inspired by the staff "we couldn't be asked"

Drinks We only found out that there were no Vietnamese beers in stock upon ordering - it would have been nice to know upon being presented with the menu. That said the Asahi beer was an expensive £6 a bottle though was served chilled and the Malbec at £7 was delicious.

Overall - £85 Inc sides like rice + service charge (which I'm wondering why I paid)

Fair to say that I expected better from this restaurant - WOULD IT KILL TO SMILE? Or communicate that you don't have a certain beer or say what dish you have bought to the table?

Maybe it's complacently due to being the only Vietnamese restaurant in the area. I'd love to see some competiton...imagine if Pham House from West Hampstead opened up...

TOO EXPENSIVE. I am absolutely shocked by how extortionate the prices are! It's my second time coming here, the first time I came was 7 months ago and i had a great experience with food, service and atmosphere, but the menu has changed since then and they have less options to choose from and the prices are sky high. The price of the spring roll is what surprised me the most, they served us just 2 spring rolls cut in half for £12! There was also no lettuce served with this dish which should have come together, for this price you would expect at least 4 full sized rolls. They also added a 12.5% service charge on top which was ridiculous because the waitress that was at the door didn't really want to seat us since they were closing in 1hr (we went during lunch time). I saw her then tell 2 more customers that walked through the door after us "we close in an hour" and when we said bye to the staff as we left, the same waitress looked at us blankly and didn't even react, clearly she just wanted to go home. This will be our last time visiting unfortunately due to the price and service. For what we paid, you would expect more and for Marlow, these prices are extremely high, these are central london prices - although even saying that, it's actually even higher than london prices...

Overall a very enjoyable dining experience, tucked away in a little courtyard not far from the main high street The starter platter was delicious and got to sample the summer rolls, spring rolls, pork and beef in betel leaves, salt and chilli squid and some noodles as well. Came with a variety of dipping sauces Enjoyed a refreshing lychee mocktail and partner had two cups of delicious hot Vietnamese coffee. For mains had the chargrilled turmeric fish and rice noodles, some of it was slightly overdone but still tasty. Partner had a very large bowl of the lemon grass chicken with noodles. I have eaten Viet cuisine all over the world including Londons finest. This compares favourably and was very pleased to come across it in Marlow. Service was very pleasant, interior decor was very tasteful. Overall very nice however be aware that there aren't any main dishes that are rice based. All main dishes seem to only come with rice noodles unless you order the rice as a side dish. Quite puzzling to be honest, as I can't imagine why there is no Viet dish without rice! As a consequence it was missing some traditional dishes which was disappointing. (The other drawback is that there is only one single shared unisex toilet in the restaurant)

Came across this place in the hunt for trying something new, somewhere new. We are very glad we did! Got there fairly early on a Thursday evening around 7pm so we were the only ones in the restaurant. Just 30 mins later, the entire restaurant was full! The food was great and tasted fresh. The spring rolls were impeccably crisp and flavourful - quite different to the ones I've had so far so would definitely recommend. We ordered the birds nest ramen which looked great in its presentation, but we found it quite 'un-ramen' like if you know what I mean. Just wasn't the best dish is why I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5. Rest everything was great, the service, the drinks and the best part was we didn't have to wait too long for the meal either!
