The Pickled Plate is hands down one of our absolute favourite places to eat and not just in Cornwall. We make a point of visiting every time we’re in the area, and it never disappoints.

The menu is a love letter to Cornish produce, full of creativity and flavour. Every dish feels like a discovery, and it’s incredible value - we often find ourselves ordering the whole menu to share!

The cocktails are always beautifully balanced and imaginative, and there’s a brilliant selection of wines to explore as well.

It’s all made even better by the wonderful owner, she runs the place with warmth, charm, and serious talent. The vibe is relaxed and cozy year-round, but if you’re lucky enough to snag an outdoor seat on a summers evening when the windbreakers are down, you’re in for something really special!

A lot of people would write off this oddly placed restaurant hidden at the back of a campsite. Honestly, I had my doubts when I first walked in. But what followed was a truly exceptional meal.

The service was spot on — they judged exactly how much food we needed without pushing too much or too little. Every dish, from the top to the bottom of the menu, was inspired and absolutely delicious.

The chef clearly knows what they’re doing. There’s real talent in that kitchen, and I honestly wish them all the success in the world.

Just finished our first meal at The Pickled Plate and WOW!!!

As regular visitors to the area we are no strangers to good food but it’s not often that we are this impressed with a first meal at a new venue. The food is amazing and equally matched with great service and an excellent warm and welcoming ambiance.

If great food is your thing then you absolutely need to try it out, you will not be disappointed! If I could give more than 5 stars I would!
