The Semaphore Colwyn Bay — Restaurant in Great Britain

I can't even give one star for my first experience. The staff behind the bar and the young waiter serving us was absolutely brilliant but unfortunately the owners/management are dam right rude and disrespectful to the staff and ourselves eating. First of all, we have two children and two adults. I told the waiter at the start. When I started to eat, the woman who I assume is the owner or management asked me whilst I was eating how old one of my children was and informed me of there age policy. Surely she should of asked me that at the time of payment at the end.

As I am eating now, the owners/management are staring over to us whilst we try to eat, very intimidating and rude.

I feel so sorry for there hard working staff who are polite and working hard while being spoken to like c**p.

Semaphore Lodge (Chinese) is the rear portion of an old social club, situated on the top of a hill overlooking Colwyn Bay. At night on a clear day you can see the ships transiting in the distance which is quite lovely. The staff are friendly and quite accomodating. However thats where the positivity ends. The soup had clearly been under the lamps for some time and could almost been eaten with a knife and fork and the theme continued through the starters most of which were dry or over cooked. The main meals were in sauces which had concentrated under the lamps. The deserts were ok althrough little small. The final insult was the bill which was £70 for two adults and two children and without any alcohol. I really felt the meal was over priced for what we had. Visited The Semaphore Lodge whilst on holiday. First impressions were a dirty pub with some locals and their dogs, filthy carpets and thread-bare seating. The buffet is through the pub at the back of the building and isn't much better. The starters were bland, dry and cold, very disappointing. The mains were OK, much better than the starters, and dessert was OK too. My 2 star review is based on the fact that the place is run down, the starters were bad, and it's £18.80 per person, for that price I expected...
