Richardson's Family Entertainment Centre Hemsby — Restaurant in Great Yarmouth

The setting is nice and the club has air con and what look like reasonable facilities, however it really just feels like Richardson's are trying to make as much money as possible, and they don't care about your experience.

The staff are not friendly or welcoming. All the screens in the club display the mission statement of Richardson's, promising high quality and excellence. But the staff, service and food do not live up to it.

We ordered the 'chicken burger' which was a piece of greasy chicken in two pieces of bread. No salad or even a piece of lettuce.

I asked for mayonnaise and the waiter said I had to buy it separately. Who charges extra for standard sauce? What surprised me more was that it was 50p per tiny sachet of sauce. It just feels like they are trying to make money wherever they can.

My partner ordered an espresso and I had a flat white. The flat white was just a coffee and milk. The espresso cost my partner £2.80 which is the most we have ever paid for an espresso. Most people enjoy their coffee hot, but it was scorching and tasted burnt.

Overall I would say the setting is nice and that is probably what encourages people inside. But the staff, food and service have a long way to go.

We stayed in an apartment for the weekend. The apartments are very basic and lacking. We requested extra pillows and duvet for the sofa bed Friday when we checked in and still didnt recieved them when we checked out. Friday evening my daughter sat on the beach chair outside reception to get her photo taken and the chair material ripped and she fall straight through we reported it to the lady on reception who was just an temporary security for the weekend as my daughter hurt her arm and we've still not heard anything back not even an apology or to ask if shes ok. The swimming pool is very basic no slides or nothing just a pool and it's in hour time slots. The changing rooms are tiny and very busy as a session is leaving and arriving at the same time. There is only 4 chairs around the side of the pool to sit and watch there is no other viewing area. The park and soft play are nice for the children although Friday evening there was a large dog with the family outside by the park which they cudnt control and bit a child so we left as didnt want our children around that. It would have been no stars but you have to select atleast one star! Came in with my family who had travelled four hours to get here! They wanted something to eat and drink only to be told at 7.45pm on a Saturday night that the bar closes at 8.00pm. Managed to get substandard food, from the posh Plaice, burger buns were hard and burnt, fish was thrown on top of the chips making it awkward to eat, and chips dry! My family started to eat theirs food as they were hungry from their trip, and to be made to feel the most unwelcome as all tvs and music were turned off!, and the staff were just hanging about waiting to lock up. While we were sitting there we saw them turn down atleast two big families, which was beyond me, on a Saturday night !
