The Bell Public House — Restaurant in Great Yarmouth

We booked in for a 1:30pm meal today and on arrival were given a warm welcome.

Throughout our meal, all of the staff were attentive, but not pushy, were chatty, smiling, great with our young grandchildren and informative.

The meal itself was lovely, pate starter was course, flavourful and well presented and the main course was amazing. Thick cuts of your choice of meats, the turkey was a massive hit all round, the beef was a little over for me, but not chewy and the gammon was lovely too.

The star of the show though was the vegetables, great roasters, carrot batons, peas, Swede, creamed leeks, boiled potatoes and red cabbage as well as stuffing and yorkshire puds. From the veg cooking and presentation alone, you can see how much pride the chefs take in cooking it.

What a lovely surprise, just around from the Coop, in Hemsby near Great Yarmouth, was a Pub, that served array of meals, to suit everyone's dietary requirements, welcoming staff, also the Chef came round to ask people if they were happy with their meal, also a selection of ales, wines etc., they have entertainment dates, darts, and pool, the food was presented well, and would recommend the very large toad in the hole, lasagne, and the chefs special chicken, bacon and leek pie, good size portions, and very reasonably priced, we went for two evening meals, and the atmosphere didn't change, you couldn't have been made more welcome, and a that when we are going to go to have another break Hemsby, we will make our way for our meals at The Bell Hemsby. In all the years I have been going to hemsby since a child I never realised there was a pub in the village to the west of the main coast road. We had wanted to see a band called the funky stuff for ages and found out they were playing here. We decided to go and have meal first. We were made very welcome at pub and nothing too much trouble. We ordered meal And drinks and sat back. Everyone seemed very friendly. The food came and was delicious and couldn't fault it or the service. The band then came on at 9 and were fantastic. They got everyone up on their feet and singing and clapping and created a brilliant atmosphere. It was a great evening out and won't hesitate to go there again.
