This is one of our local breweries, so I have been a number of times now. Delicious beer (can’t beat Surrey Nirvana and Hogstar), made with hops grown on site. The tap room is amazing, with a large barn area and outdoor seating looking over the fields. When it’s too chilly to sit outside you can enjoy your pint on a sofa near the fire! The pizzas are also some of the best I’ve had outside of Italy! Only thing I would say is that I wish there were a few more beer taps, maybe with a few guest brews? If you are into your beer, the shop is heaven. It stocks all the Hogs Back brews as well as many other craft beers from all over the country. Then you have the most insane choice of German and Belgian beers. It’s worth the hour round trip for us just for the shop alone! Already looking forward to my next visit, thanks Hogs Back!

I live abroad, and every time I’m home I try to visit the Hogs Back Brewery for a few reasons. It keeps alive a traditional style of ale that I really enjoy, but it’s also innovating and producing beers and ciders that can be enjoyed by everyone, not only real ale lovers. My visit this year was excellent: the hops were in full bloom and the sun was shining. I was also impressed by the quality of the food and the overall friendliness of the staff. However, I think the bar itself could be run a little more efficiently, as people were queuing unnecessarily when there were two sides to the bar. Perhaps they could make this clearer to patrons, as I think we English tend to join queues naturally without questioning why they’re there! All in all, it’s a wonderful place — and dare I say, a local institution.

1st time visiting here, lived in the area for 40yrs and never visited. What a great place! Fantastic beer garden/Surroundings in the Surrey Hills with the Hop Garden in the background, loads of wines, spirits and of course Hogs Back Brewery Beers etc. Staff are extremely friendly and have a lot of products knowledge and helped me choose an IPA that was a great Neck Oil equivalent that I will be now drinking more of👍 The food is fantastic with lots on offer and you can watch your pizza being made freshly in the Yurt area. The indoor bar area is very cosy and welcoming and my wife and I agreed we will frequent this place more often now we know about it👍🍻

I have drunk from and been to the Hogs back Brewery for many years and always enjoyed my time. This week we invited 2 friends to join us for the Hop harvest festival. We had a great day but unfortunately are day was ruined by our experience at the end. The day was based on a token basis and myself and my friends each purchased £27.50 worth of tokens to enjoy the last band of the day at 16:20. After already spending about £120 per couple. We then walked to the beer tent only to find that it was closed. I approached the owner Rupert to calmly express my disappointment that I had purchased £27.50 worth of beer tokens that were completely worthless. Rupert was obviously very stressed and was very aggressive. Obnoxious and rude to me and my wife. I calmly tried to explain my predicament but he was nothing but rude. Many other customers were also complaining as they had also been left in the same predicament. Even the staff and security were trying to reason with him explaining that we were talking to him in a calm and respectful manner but he was totally unreasonable. He said that it was in the events t&cs even though it’s not and then accused me of being abusive to his staff which I found very upsetting as I had been nothing but polite and respectful all day. We explained that the whole problem Could be easily resolved with a sign saying “bar shuts at 16:30” or the person selling tokens informing guests that the bar was about to close. He could have easily apologised and did finally after being persuaded by security take our email for credit at a later date. We part claimed our left over tokens and left the rest for charity. Unfortunately though I have still not received an apology for his behaviour on the night or for accusing me of abusing staff. I was so disappointed and upset by the baseless accusations and aggression shown by Rupert that I will now choose to spend my money elsewhere. I am sure that I am not alone as there were so many upset and disappointed...

Review of Hogs Back Brewery Tap Room

I recently visited the Hogs Back Brewery Tap Room, and I can confidently say that it was an outstanding experience! From the delicious food to the top-notch beer and friendly staff, everything about this place exceeded my expectations.

First off, the beer selection is fantastic. Hogs Back has a great range of their own brews, each with its unique flavor and character. Whether you prefer a crisp lager or a rich ale, there’s something for everyone. I particularly enjoyed trying a flight of their beers, which allowed me to sample a variety of options and discover new favorites. The quality of the brews is evident, and you can truly taste the craftsmanship that goes into each pint.

Now, let’s talk about the food! The menu features a delightful assortment of dishes that perfectly complement the beer. I was impressed by the freshness and quality of the ingredients used. I tried a couple of small plates, and each one was packed with flavor. The options range from hearty pub classics to more innovative dishes, ensuring that there’s something for every palate. I also appreciated that they cater to various dietary preferences, making it a great spot for groups with different tastes.

What really stood out during my visit was the staff. They were incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable, making me feel right at home. Their enthusiasm for the brewery and its offerings was contagious, and they were more than happy to provide recommendations and share insights about the beers and food. It’s clear that they take pride in their work, which adds to the overall positive atmosphere of the tap room.

In summary, my experience at Hogs Back Brewery Tap Room was nothing short of fantastic. With excellent food, a superb selection of beer, and a friendly, attentive staff, it’s a must-visit for anyone in the area. I can’t wait to return and enjoy another round with...

Terrible customer service and experience. We had booked a brewery tour pre covid which had to be rescheduled twice due to lockdowns. When we were told they were cancelling our tour the final time and instead of rebooking we would be provided with a voucher - we told them we would rather have a refund in case we couldn't use the voucher anytime soon. They assured us that there was not an expiry on the voucher and they wouldn't offer a refund.

Unfortunately we were not able to book for nearly 2 years due to moving away from the area but when we tried to book we were told the voucher was no longer valid. When explaining our situation and asking them where was the expiry and where had we been told it had expired they couldn't give us any answers. We offered to pay the difference of the new brewery tour prices if they would honour the £100 we originally spent and they said no. When we complained and asked to escalate this issue we were ignored and given an email with no reply. When emailing via their online portal we have also received no reply. When speaking to them on the phone we were told they would need to speak to their manager Beth and she would call us after the weekend...we never heard back. Their phones rarely connect because they are busy and the staff we spoke to have been dissmissive and unhelpful. They have effectively taken our money for a service, cancelled the service and offered zero compensation.

We have been incredibly...
