The West Town Inn, situated in the heart of Hayling Island, is a charming and welcoming inn that provides an ideal destination for tourists and locals alike. During my recent visit, I had the pleasure of meeting Max, the landlady, who was warm and friendly from the outset. She was attentive to our needs and made us feel comfortable throughout our stay.
The food at the West Town Inn was excellent, with Alan the chef preparing delicious and satisfying dishes. In particular, the Sunday roast was a standout. It was cooked to perfection, and the portion size was more than generous. Alan's attention to detail and use of fresh, local produce was evident in every bite, and I highly recommend his creations to anyone visiting the inn.
One unexpected surprise was the free entertainment provided after we finished our meal. It was a great way to relax and unwind after a long day, and the musicians were incredibly talented. The atmosphere was lively, and it was clear that both the guests and the locals were enjoying themselves.
Overall, my experience at the West Town Inn was fantastic, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Max and Alan have created a wonderful establishment, and their dedication to providing top-quality food and entertainment is outstanding - we...
Read moreBooked for an important birthday treat but was let down and was unable to get a table or meal. Head chef very abusive and nasty when queried politely and bar staff thought this was hilarious, not nice, in fact quite upsetting and unprofessional. Not recommended if the occasion matters to you. Could not get another booking for Sunday lunch on the island, so bought a pizza from Lidls, which was delicious and a fortune was saved. Lidls are great.
Manager seemed decent and later apologised for the chefs actions and offered a takeaway roast, but the pizza had already been eaten by then. We will not book there again, but thankfully there are literally loads of decent places on hayling to eat, almost all of them, so no loss to any of us at all whatsoever.
Friends and family will also avoid having heard about the experience and the fact the head chef seemed to really enjoy ruining a young lads 18th birthday treat and lie about the reasons.
A real shame, as it was the one place chosen for the event and he was looking forward to it. Can’t comment on the food, obviously, but service, atmosphere and bar staff are not good. Maybe when the chef is gone the pub might be okay again. Guess we will never find out as bookings cannot be...
Read moreWe hired the function area out for my partners 50th birthday party...I cannot express how amazing the staff were and how good the buffet food was. All our guests were made to feel welcome due to the very friendly atmosphere. The service at the bar was friendly and within a really decent serving time. The energy over the whole evening was infectious and it was great that the DJ played some great tunes as it kept fuelling the party vibe. Maxine the Landlady was an exceptional hostess who was happy to facilitate our requirements. The party was enjoyed by all and I 100% would recommend this venue to others. The next day when collecting the car, we took the opportunity to try a Mothering Sunday roast lunch . We had 2 roast porks with all the trimmings. It was second to none and fixed us up a treat. To end our whole experience we listened to an excellent entertainer called Mat O'Neil. Thank you so much for making my partners 50th birthday party special, we are both so grateful for the impeccable service and amazing atmosphere provided by the staff of West Town Inn.
