Bhan Thai — Restaurant in Hertsmere

Very disappointing experience.

We found a leaflet in the house looking very promising therefore I invited friends for a dinner. We ordered 4 different main course and prawn crackers and due to the fact that I'm a big fun of Thai food and tried most good restaurants in the area I was very much looking forward to the food. I read some great reviews so I was confident I won't disappoint my friends. Unfortunately the only authentic taste came only from prawn crackers and the rest was edible but nowhere close to what it should taste like:

Green curry and jungle curry very watery and lacked real flavours

Pad Thai - way over sweet my friend couldn't finish

Pad Ki Mao - normally my favourite Thai dish but on this occasion was a disaster. Old vegetables, horrible pasta and awful taste of the sauce. I ordered 2 portions and both me and my wife looked at each other when we tasted it with big disappointment and none of us wanted to finish it.

As I'm caterer i love food and trying out my local restaurants but unfortunately I will never recommend you guys to anyone as my night was clearly ruined and I had to pay...

I first placed an order with this restaurant approximately two months ago and left a negative review after I paid, didn’t receive my order and was unable to contact the restaurant that night regarding the matter.

The following day I called the restaurant back and spoke to the manager about the issues I had faced. I was given a sincere apology and offered a 50% discount in compensation.

I finally chose to order from this restaurant again yesterday and was very pleased with the service I received. I ordered chicken satay, chicken pad thai, pork pad see-ew and the three flavour crispy fish. The order arrived in a timely manner and all dishes were very tasty.

All things considered, the initial issue I faced was with an incompetent Uber Eats driver and not the restaurant itself. Having raised the issues with the restaurant they were very attentive and provided a suitable resolution. I will be ordering from this...

I tend to pop in Bhan Thai for lunch, mainly by myself and it’s just so welcoming. And you can get some work done while eating delicious food, fresh ingredients and prepared to your expectations

The staff are very friendly and always have smiles on their faces (genuine smiles)

The prices are great and not once have I been disappointed with their service or food. The perfect little spot for authentic Thai food.

I’m a regular for their; Chicken Noodle Soup (a big bowl of food that definitely fills you up)
