Having a five - minute walk, got off from the bus stop and when walking along the countryside passage to the Arnfield Reservior, you will be attracted by a vintage and small English hut where this Café situates.
The surroundings of the Café are a breath-taking scenery, like the dream land of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. When at arrival, you are firstly greeted by a flock of teals wondering in reservior watery echoing you the beauty of nature.
The Café is resting quietly by the rim side of Arnfield Reservior. You will be over-whelmed by its noble outlook of this English hut.
The Arnfield Café is run by two young Hong Kongers with three helping hands of Thai lady chefs.
Walking through the entrance and passing the kitchen, there is an attached conservatory, where the dining hall is.
This conservatory is built with a glass roof top to conduct sun beam shining very brightly in this dinning hall. There is a fireplace and with sunlight, it keeps a warm enviroment to guests while enjoying their food in winter.
Sitting in the dining hall where just adjacent to the reservoir side, guests can have a glance of the entire reservoir. It gives you a transquit feeling of an escape from the busy hub of city.
There is a good news to spicy or curry gourmets. You will have choices of "green, red, panang massaman curry" with the combination choices of ingredients- chicken, duck, beef or mutton.
1.You can order the skew and satay of chicken, beef or mutton and the Thai green papaya salad to be the starters to arouse up your appetite.
2.One of the main courses is the green curry with choice of duck. This is highly recommended for the people who can't have spicy or hot curry food but are fond of sweet & mild green curry whereas it is good for gourmets who are facinated by curry food at a low degree of spiciness. The duck meat is so tender! It is also fabulous to have a plate of jasime rice pouring with the green curry. You will never forget this fantastic and mouth- watering tast to your tast buds.
Why not have the Pad Thai to be another main course. This was well - cooked by the Thai lady chefs. It was scrumptious and made us empty up the dish.
What is amazing that it is terrific you can enjoy chatting with friends while dining in neat conservatory room aside by the charming view of the reserviour.
Not finish your lunch or dinner yet, the Hong Kong style-mlike tea is a must to try. Particularly for any Hong Kongers, it can recall your homesick as L' Estrangers in United Kingdom.

Read moreWell after reading reports about this fishery on fly forums, and following the fishing reports on the Arnfield website ,i decided to give it a try.My first visit was on 8/3/14.Hiring a boat I fished along the shoreline to the right of the lodge. The wind was over my shoulder which helped my amateur casting.Caught 11 rainbows to 3.5 lbs which I thought was brilliant, lost two really nice fish as well.Second visit was the following sat, arrived to be greeted with strong winds and bitterly cold conditions.Casting into the wind was very difficult but wanted to persevere in my peg.First reasonable cast, and a monster of a fish slammed my fly, after bringing it to the surface for the one and only time I realized the wind had blown my loose fly line around the reel! The fish made its first long run before I could untangle my line and ping!Gutted I set up again and was rewarded with seven fish in total to 4.4 lb,again losing another big fish which straightened my hook! Now under those conditions I thought it was probably one of the hardest and rewarding days fishing ever! Stopped for a mid-morning break for a delicious hot sandwich and a cuppa in the warm well appointed lodge, where you can thaw out in front of the logburning stove.Price wise, for catch and release from the bank is £22.50and that includes taking one fish under 5lbs.Fish in the 5-10lb bracket are charged at an extra £10,whilst fish over 10lb are charged at £5 per lb.Many people have commented on the high price, well you dont have to kill your fish,(take a picture of your trophy) and surely the better tasting fish are the smaller ones anyway! I think this price structure is entirely fair thus giving any fly angler the chance of a double or in my case itll be a p/b.Anyway,as a relative novice in the sport,i can say from experience there ,the fish are fighting fit in beautiful condition. On my first visit I met 2 guys from Newcastle, now that is testament to a very popular water! Well done to the owners on managing a really...
Read moreWhat a lovely place, however, I didn't see any life rings around which was a shock, the decking for customers of the cafe, was very poor, in some places very bad, yet it is a lovely location. Very little information about the fishing inside, which is why I visited. We a tea and toast, the tea pot had 1 tea bag in it, so only good for 1 cup, the butter was margarine, so 2 teas and toast was, 10 pounds, not cheap either. Not wheel chair accessible
This is the owners reply. Response from the owner, in BOLD is my reply to their comments.
fishing informations and menu prices were on the menu (NO MENU's WERE GIVE TO US) which well shown at the counter If you felt the prices is high, why you complain after you paid? (BECAUSE WE PAID AND GOT THE FOOD AFTER) You can choose not to pay! (I WONT NEXT TIME) Why you paid us for the tea and toast? Please complain reasonable but not use knives kill people behind. ( WHAT KIND OF STATEMENT IS THIS) The place is wheelchair accessible but the slope is being repairing. SO IT NOT ACCESSIBLE as the slope is the only access.
