Oh my gosh! We stopped in hope for a few days recently and decided to try this restaurant. With it being in the middle of nowhere, I wasn't expecting anything special but I was wrong!
The staff were very polite and welcoming. They gave us the right amount of attention and the service speed was just right! Often when you go to Indian restaurants they just want you in and out as quickly as possible. This experience was more relaxed and actually allowed time for us to enjoy company, and eat at the right pace. We didn't feel rushed.
Food: I eat curry a lot! I consider myself well experience when it comes to Indian cuisine. I can't believe I have said this, but my Beef Madras curry was the best Madras that I have ever had! The texture, the flavour and the heat was like just incredible. Even though just a madras, it was also so different to any other that I have had. The base gravy they use has more texture and not too watered down. I will happily take a good poo and ring-sting for a curry like this any day! Nearly a week later I am writing this and my mouth is watering thinking about how good the curry was. I cannot wait to experience it again!
We've told our friends about this place, and planning to make a special trip to Hope next month just to have another curry. I am really hoping they have consistently with their food because not many restaurants achieve it.
A slight negative is that they don't sell wine or beer, so it is a BYO venue. It does look a bit crappy seeing tins of beer on tables.
(Also a thank you to the restaurant for calling me 2 days later to inform me that I left my bag and wallet! That will have saved me a lot of hassle and worry when I came...

Visited the Curry Cabin with my wife last year while staying in Hope for a quiet week with the dogs. It was great but I did not get around to writing a review. This time we decided to go early in out holiday and found ourselves the only customers in the extended restaurant. Despite that, we did not feel self-conscious or uncomfortable. there were other people coming in to collect take-aways and the staff were attentive, but not intrusive; a tough balance to strike when there is only one occupied table.
The starters were served quickly and were somewhere between excellent and better than that! There was a short pause before the mains were delivered, (which gave me confidence that they were not sitting around waiting for us to finish) and both the Monk Fish and the Lamb dish were at least as good as the starters. There was no way I could have found space for a dessert as the portions were generous. Simply put, we thoroughly enjoyed the meal, so much so that we went back on Friday.
The restaurant was rather busier (as you would expect) but service remained excellent, attentive and quick. the food was every bit as good as the first time we visited.
All in all, a great dining experience. I do not doubt that we will return next time we...
Read moreWent as a group of 15 pre- booked so they were aware. Came to take the order when we said we were doing it individual as in couples so we knew who owed what the answer we got was a large sigh and " can't you just remember what you had because I'll have to do 15 seperate orders" Anyways after starting this he then decided no he would do separate orders after mumbling something in his language to the other staff !!. After the starters another gentleman came to ask if anyone needed more cutlery my Husband asked for a fork to which the said gentleman replied " you've already got one " my Husband asked you mean the dirty one I've already used and he replied yes . Really so ask if you want cutlery then don't want to give you any. The food was lovely but the service was absolutely diabolical. There was a lot of money spent in here tonight however none of us would ever step foot in the place again. And on a final note not even a thank you when we paid the bill. Do not give them your money they certainly don't...
