Saturday lunch on way to the airport: Except for one big-ish table the place was empty. OK, ordered two Mediterranean roasted Halloumi skewers, at £15 per pop one would expect something nice. Finally arrived after 40 minutes wait and was simply inedible. The skewers were completely uncooked. Some white lukewarm halloumi pieces with loads of absolutely raw and cold pieces of green pepper and big chunks of raw onion. Served with some microwaved naan bread and an unsalted, tasteless stodgy, sticky microwave rice. I've never before returned food and asked for a refund. But that was it. This was literally inedible, I'm not going to chew through some raw onions with stodgy overcooked rice. No condiments or herbs, no olive oil or dressing or proper sauce no cooking or roasting involved. No Mediterranean vegetables either, absolutely disgusting. When I asked for refund, as I didn't have time anymore for another attempt, neither any trust in the "cook's" competence, the personnel got all shirty. Not a single word as an apology....
Read moreWe had our wedding here yesterday 19th of July 2025. I need to do this post because Nat the landlady is absolutely amazing at what she does the hostess with the most Doesn’t really cut it she literally will go above and beyond and she is also very beautiful, we had our wedding there yesterday and it was everything we wanted it to be. She did us a buffet for around 100 people split into two with evening food absolutely amazing the food was devoured instantly the atmosphere you could not beat it. She had put us on a disco which is their in-house DJ who is absolutely amazing thank you Andrew what a guy I would definitely recommend the shoulder of mutton at Chapel en le frith as I go to place for any occasion. It is very accessible car park wise has ramps for disabled people. There is an outdoor facility park for children. A lot of outdoor seating as well and is centralised in the middle of Chapel. Absolutely perfect little location and pub we couldn’t of chose somewhere better...
Read moreVery mixed feeling about this place.
Mia was very kind to take our pre-order, and the food was organised as it should. The chicken pies took a bit longer to come out compared to the others' dishes, but that was ok. Portions were very descent and food quite tasty. It is very convenient to have a child playground for the little ones. And they kindly offered sweets to all the children at the end of the meal which was a very nice touch. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. There are lots of alcohol free drink choices, which i appreciated greatly!
Now , we got a little bit unlucky with our timing as a wake was taking place when we went. But the issue was more that in both male and female toilets, the guests of the wake were taking drugs... which is not ideal when you have little ones with you. "Luckily," we could take them to the disabled...
