The Golden Dragon Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in High Peak

My wife ordered some food as we was visiting for a week .

We ordered

CRISPY SEAWEED - not to bad

VEGETARIAN SPRING ROLL (4 PIECES) - the worst vegetarian spring rolls every had , Morrisons spring roll are much more nicer

SESAME PRAWN ON TOAST (6 PIECES) - was good

DEEP FRIED TO FU IN SWEET & SOUR SAUCE - the to fu was not cocked in the middle it did not even looked like it was deep fried , the sweet & sour sauce had only one one slice of carrot three cubes pineapple look like they come out of a tin one slice of onion and one slice of pepper , it felt like it was a meal for a kid

SHREDDED CRISPY CHILLI BEEF (IN BATTER) - the beef tasted I was actually burnt I could not even eat it.

EGG FRIED RICE - the egg fried rice was good

SPECIAL FRIED RICE (KING PRAWN, CHICKEN, BEEF AND PORK) - it tasted like it was cocked with salt in it ,

A group of us all friends visited the restaurant for dinner as we had been before many times but not for a couple of years. We got drinks and starters relatively quickly but our main meals arrived approx 2 hours from arrival. One of my guests left as he couldn't wait any longer ruining his evening. All priority was going to takeaway meals which were going out pretty quickly, we weren't the only customers unhappy as another couple were also complaining about the wait. There were only 3 to 4 occupied tables. The prices had skyrocketed, the teatime menu used to be 10 then 11 pounds, it's now over £28 pp and the ice cream has been replaced with a cup of tea? The food was mediocre at best, unfortunately Chapel is short of restaurants so in future we will get takeaway from a reputable place. We will never be...

We got a take away of eleven items. The food tasted delicious BUT, although the staff were friendly and helpful, the wait was rediculously long (50 minutes) and most of the food; lemon chicken, rice, salt & pepper chips, sweet & sour chicken was like warm even as we set off back home. And while we waiting, the staff were told not the answer the phone anymore: bad luck for anyone wanting to book a table or order a take away given that the place had only been open for 35 minutes at that...
