Ciabatta was dry Had to tell the waitress how to make the chai latte Didn’t give us a bill that showed we were being charged service so we ended up paying £6 service for shocking service and terrible communication. Overpriced and won’t ever return
Per the response: You were pretty empty so ‘sorting us out a table wasn’t exactly hard’ I did mention the need for chutney because the ciabatta was SO DRY so that itself counts for mentioning a problem Per the instructions of the chai latte (that weren’t followed) and your waitress even saying ‘oh we’re trying different ways of making it’ shows that the chai latte was not made the way it should be hence the awful tasting thing I was served to begin with. The waitress even took on with gratitude the guidance on how to make and serve a proper chai latte which then tasted fine. We didn’t get a hard copy of the bill and the waitress even said ‘oh sorry that’s our mistake’ Also only 4 people ate at lunch; not disputing adding service on but outlined previously ‘shocking communication’. Customers shouldn’t have to return to the counter after leaving to question it. Not really unpleasant customers just pointing out when something isn’t right considering we are paying customers. Customer service goes a long way and as the owners you have none. You won’t have business the way you carry on with that attitude wishing people to not come back. Maybe try being a little more graceful, not so defensive and problem solve rather than just bite back.
P.s I also even had to baby highchair before putting mine in it because it was filthy.. your wait staff even saw this and just ignored it and...
Read moreStunning views and great for dog walking. The only downside is getting in and out of the park on a sharp blind bend. |The lodge was so clean and has everything you need (hair dryers, towels, first aid kit, shampoo and body wash, plenty of drawer and wardrobe space). Kitchen was well equipped; dishwasher, washing machine, all utensils and crockery you will need, large fridge and freezer, microwave and oven/hob. |Lovely dining area with wonderful views as is the lounge area. Free WiFi. Lovely bathroom and en suite with fabulous power shower. |Site has boat and bike hire. |Also has cafe open until 4pm for breakfast/lunch - indoor and outdoor seating. |Feels secure as you have two electric gates to get in and out (main one open during cafe hours but one to lodges is always closed). |Great location for walks and pub lunches. Very close to Amberley Castle and the South Downs way. |Arundel is only about 10 minute drive and beaches at littlehampton are about 25 minutes. |It was the most relaxing holiday and very quiet in the lodges. Dogs very welcome on site and in the cafe. |One recommendation for improvement would be to have some kind of gate across the lodge steps to allow your dog to be outside but not able to wander off. Would also have liked some kind of outdoor shade for me and the dog. |We will definitely be returning later in the year (shame they aren’t open over...
Read moreStayed in Bury Countryside lodge for 4 nights with my Husband and our black lab. There was plenty of space. Lovely spot by the river and a great location. The lodge had everything you needed hand wash, shower gel, shampoo, toilet rolls, towels, tea towels, sponges, dish washing tablets and washing up liquid. The kitchen had all the utensils you needed. The train station was a few minutes walk up the road. Yes you can hear the trains but they were not that loud. We jumped on the train to Bognor Regis - 30 mins. There is a café on site. Guest receive 10% discount. I'm unable to comment on the food as we did not eat there. We drove to Storrington (8 mins drive) to Waitrose and the chippy - Storrington Fish which is near Waitrose. There is also a Tesco Express which is in the petrol station. We did a circular walk of Amberley daily along the river Arun, It was so peaceful and wonderful views. We went to Amberley Museum which is next to the train station. Great value for money and you can take dogs. If you have a blue light card. They will give you discount. I agree with a previous review there is a sharp blind bend when getting in/out of the park. Window down and radio off to hear the traffic. A mirror on the opposite side of the turning would be a good idea to see the oncoming traffic. We said we would come back and book a riverside lodge and explore more of the area. Great 4...
