So booked here for Christmas dinner after hearing some good things. So arrived on Christmas Day, to find a rude half hearted barmaid, making no secret of the fact that she found serving us a total chore. I ordered a Bloody Mary, and was given a shot of vodka in a dirty j20 glass, and a bottle of warm tomato juice. No offer of ice, or anything. We went to get our table, and couldn't find anyone to tell us where we were sitting. Another customer eventually got the attention of the surly barmaid, and she showed them there table. We asked for ours, and she disappeared for about 10 mins, then came back to tell us we were sitting on our own, not in the restaurant, but in the packed public bar. The table wasn't laid out like the ones in the restaurant it literally just had some cutlery thrown on it. I refused the table, explaining that I had booked back in November, and was expecting to sit in the restaurant. Eventually the landlady came out and said that was it, no choice, we either ate our Christmas meal in the packed public bar with drunk people wandering around in onesies ( yes really) or we could come back in a couple of hours and she would try and fit us in then, at this point a couple of other customers had joined in to say the whole thing was a shambles. Bearing in mind this is Christmas Day and I've paid £80 for the privilege, I said ok we would just take our money back and forget it.... And guess what?!?! She could only refund half!!!! Total, total disgrace. Only go to this place if you like rude surly staff, and no customer service...
Read moreSpent about 2 hours here. With the boys having some drinks & beers. This was our first day out as our new cycling group and Three Horshoes was our meeting point. Weather was amazing! Unfortunately the customer service was not. 2 rude, surly barmaids served a friend as we were about to set off on our cycle. They were terribly impatient with the customer before her and very uninviting when my friend was to be served, she asked for some water in her bottle. We did not live locally and could not pop home to replenish a bottle of water. We were not sure what the problem was as it was a PUB and such a simple and reasonable request/favour? She simply wanted water. Tap water. We would have had no problem paying for it either. Also because the water probably wouldnt stay very cold for long as it was extremely hot outside my friend asked very nicely and politely before she handed us back the water and said "can I be cheeky and please have some ice in my water", trying to add some friendly banter in there. The barmaid huffed and proceeded, meanwhile the other barmaid watched her then turned with a nasty frown on her face to tell my friend in a disappointed voice "that is very cheeky" as if she should be ashamed for asking for water WITH ice! WHAT A STRANGE AND UNFRIENDLY PUB. HOPEFULLY THEY READ THIS AND CHANGE THEIR ATTITUDES TOWARDS THEIR CUSTOMERS. WE WENT OUTSIDE AND TOLD THE GROUP WHAT HAPPENED AND DECIDED THIS WILL NO LONGER BE OUR MEETING POINT...
Read moreMe & my family had lunch here on Saturday the 17th of May.There were 4 of us & we were the only ones eating, the room was that cold all 4 of us had to keep our coats on.Me & my son chose the home made pie with seasonal vegetables & chips. The seasonal veg was frozen garden peas, the chips were oven chips & the piece of pie that I had was nice but it was the smallest piece of pie that I,ve ever been served. The only good part of the meal was the gravy but unfortuanately there was only a thimbleful of that. How they can charge £15 for this so called meal was a disgrace. The young Lady who served us was however very good & poured the perfect pint of Guiness for my grandson.Dear sir you have been very selective in your answers to my review, where is your response to the comments about how cold it was in the room ? We ordered from the menu provided & it stated that our meal would include " seasonal veg" we didn,t order the light lunch,my daughter in law & my grandson ordered from the same menu & they recieved what they ordered nut the light lunch version. With regards to your comment about the chips not being oven chips, they certainly weren,t home made chips but were some kind of frozen chip.Regarding the comment about being able to ask for more gravy, the amount of gravy supplied with the meal was only just enough to cover the small piece of pie so why not serve it automatically with a larger...
