Fantastic evening catch up with the girls and our first time at Tipsy cows. We have followed on Facebook for some time and we were all really looking forward to trying something different. We were greeted with a lovely welcome and shown to our table, it was very busy and everyone was chatting and having a great time. We ordered drinks and then the owners talked us through menu choices where we opted for the mixed meats and cheeses. I’m normally quite a bore and stick to the usual Brie, garlic cheese etc so was intrigued to try. The food arrived quickly and was presented beautifully on a lovely wooden platter, Micky explained what each cheese was and where from and we couldn’t wait to try. We tried every single cheese and it was amazing, so much choice and these cheeses couldn’t be bought in the supermarkets, we all loved the lemoncello cheese and the Indian one with curry sauce, there wasn’t any we disliked and we had plenty of grapes, crackers, fresh bread and chutneys. We have never experienced anything like it and had the best time. I’ve already booked to go with another group of friends and I can’t wait to see what my next visit will offer. Thanks so much to all the lovely staff who where so attentive and we will highly recommend Tipsy Cows to all what a...
Read moreMy friend has been wanting to visit here for a while so when I said I was coming to visit for the weekend she booked us a table straight away, knowing how much I love cheese and wine.
On arrival we were greeted by the front of house who is also one of the owners, she is so lovely, friendly and welcoming, as were all the staff. we had a cheeky cocktail to start and then ordered the Cheese experience and the whole thing was beautiful, a fabulous fondue to start with local butter and bread along with an accompaniment of a glorious homemade salsa.
Then for the cheese platter, a beautiful selection of local, British and international cheeses, along with a beautiful homemade pate which was a family recipe and Wiltshire ham & crackers. These were bought out by the other owner, he prepares all the food and is an absolute fountain of cheesy knowledge, very approachable and chatty.
The wine was superb, we asked them to pair the wine with our meal and they definitely hit the nail on the head. The waiting staff were chatty friendly and professional.
We had the most fabulous evening and we will back on my next visit to the area. I can most definitely highly recommend. A stunning local gem that is a must...
Read moreIf you love cheese you will adore this place. I booked on a whim because I fancied a cheese board. We didn't get a cheese board; we got taken on a fantastic voyage to places near and far through the medium of the best selection of cheeses I've ever tasted. Each cheese had a back story, from the lady up the road who made pickled onion monster munch cheese to pay her vet bills, to the Canadian guy with a buffalo herd on a Scottish island who made the most delicious balls of cheese soaked in maple syrup. The stories are all curated and delivered by the cheese master who clearly has a passion for his subject. The portions are unbelievably generous and you are encouraged to take away all the lovely leftovers, which in our case (2 people) was enough for supper for four people and more. The service and location were also excellent. I have been spreading the word to everyone I know that they must definitely visit.
Well done Tipsy Cows for making such a seemingly simple concept into an absolutely wonderful experience of taste, ...
