Edit 22/03/25: Utterly appalled by the service today. First, we get overcharged by £9 more than what we ordered.
Our food was £45.75 and drinks came to £5.90, but somehow the total charged was £60.65 even though we'd literally been told the order came to £51.65.
I'm glad we'd gotten a receipt because we turned right around to get our money back. We'd originally paid by card and were given a handful of cash as a refund. When we got into the car this time, we saw the man on the till had only given us £8, not £9, so he still stole £1. He was a bumbling fool anyway and added up our order wrong several times on the calculator when we tried to get a refund. This is in addition to the guy who tried to give me the wrong rice and then plonked a greasy bowl on top of my clean napkin.
I imagine this low-level penny pinching is a common theme here. The extra money was probably pocketed as a tip. Shameful. I wonder how many people they short change daily.
Just checked and I can see from other reviews on here that other people have also been scammed out of £10 or so pounds. AVOID this cesspit!! I will be reporting this sleazy hovel. Original review: Amazing food, amazing atmosphere. Worth every penny to eat here. It's a lovely dining experience and the serving times are excellent. Easy to read menu and great variety of food. Really delicious curries and served by lovely staff. Very cosy seating too. A must visit for...
Read moreCame here with my friends for iftaar on our yearly iftaar outing, popadoms were nice with the chutney tray, i really liked the red sauce everywhere else its usually spicy but im not a big fan of spice, yours was sweet with a slight kick to it which was perfect, the mix grill was very nice although the lamb chops were quite chewy rather than meaty that could be somewhere to improve on for next time we come down, the keema naans were lovely one of the best i had in a while, food was lovely, staff were very friendly, the only few things i can say that could do with improving is the drinking glasses were a bit dirty so we didn't use them, the toilets were quite unclean like they hadn't been cleaned in a while, and the last one is there was only 1 staff on the floor which i understand as it was iftaar time so they were off eating and breaking their fast so i happy and respect that as we was doing the same. But we needed some drinks and had been sat there for a good 10/15 minutes waiting for staff member to finish speaking to a regular customer, we tried getting his attention many times but failed so had to stop eating our food as we badly needed a drink haha, but other than that was a good experience will be back in future inshallah, hopefully these teething issues will be fixed next time.
Thank you...
Read moreRight. Well, what a superb dining experience me and t'other half had here on Sat 14th Jan. Really, really great food and service. Up there with the best Indians I've had. Flavours sublime. Really tender chicken & lamb tikka and although I eat a lot of curries I'm not a big fan of lamb tikka but wow. This was tasty. Infact, the whole meal was bang on. The only thing to have a little whinge about was that my jalfrezi wasn't very spicy despite me asking them to make it extra hot. It was still lovely but I'm a spice freak. We are already planning on going back and i'll get vindaloo next time. The fact that the place was filling up fast at 1830 on a dismal, murky, January night says it all. Well happy and cannot wait to go back. Roy. Update 28/2/23- been 4 times now and had 4 different main meals. Went on Saturday 25th Feb and had vindaloo. Amazing. The flavours!! My new fave indian restaurant ever, and that is saying something guys. Update- Feb 24'. Been a lot of times now haha and this is consistently good. Never leave not having enjoyed the meal & service. Update- July 24'. This is going to be a rare treat these days after they have put the price of pint of cobra up to pretty much £6. It's not Manchester or London guys!! It's east Lancashire. Come...
