I went so you didn't have to! We came just for a brew whilst we was into he area. I have heard loads of nice reviews of this little quaint cafe on FB and other websites. We went inside after not knowing we had to pre book to sit inside. We asked if there was any availability to which the manager said not but we could sit outside if we wanted. it's a sunny day so we didn't refuse. We was given a menu and told sit anywhere outside. We took our children and found a table. We decided what we was having and then went inside, I asked if we could order to which I was sent back outside to another section to place out order. I originally wanted X2 coffees, a scone and 3 slices orange and carrot cakes for the children. The server said they didn't have any of the cakes or scones available, I asked what was available and pointed out the board next to them stated they had the cake. We was told we could have the salted caramel cake. I ordered X2 coffees, X2 fruit shoots and 4 slices of this cake.... Grand total of ÂŁ30 !!!! During this time the servers were telling staff members which tables to take the food to, however they were describing people and not sending them to certain tables. I found this rather unprofessional and rude if I am honest, choose a new system for outside seating! The food came to us, the server spilt my Coffee all over the table and plate and walked away, no apologies or offering to get me a napkin. The cakes came and they were dry as a nuns crotch! There was no salted caramel on any of the cakes but plenty of cream. Nice spot and looks nice but I don't think I will return.

Visited Arthur's for Afternoon Tea which had to be booked and deposit paid. On arrival we were impressed by the grounds and new building. There was even a horse park as there was a bridal way through the car park. We arrived 10 minutes early but our table was ready and we were served prosecco straight away. However after 20mins of waiting the food had not arrived. We asked if it was ready especially as they had our booking for 12.30pm afternoon tea. The food finally arrived 30mins after our alloted time 😕 (40mins after our arrival) The plate did look impressive even if the scones were the smallest I'd ever seen. (The size of a teaspoon) The open sandwiches were different to what we'd had before which was a nice change and the other trimmings of sausage roll and potato croquette was very nice. All in all a nice afternoon tea but spoilt for the long wait. A couple of ladies came in 30mins after we arrived and their afternoon tea came at the same time as ours which made me realise the chefs were making 2 lots and we had to wait for both to be ready to be served. I really don't think it takes so long to prepare and plate up an afternoon tea.

Have been here a few times now, and on each occasion, we have enjoyed our experiences. The food menu is limited, but what you are served is quality. We have been with friends who also like this resteraunt. You can eat inside by booking or eating outside without booking. Outside is great sat in the sunshine with great views. They have a choice of tables, or you can sit in pods if the weather is a bit iffy. There is a ramp for wheelchairs and large carparks.Toilets are very clean. The staff are very polite and helpful in every way possible. This can be a very busy place, especially at weekends and holidays, so you may need a bit of patience in waiting to be served. Don't expect a quick turnaround if they are busy and just enjoy the experience. (SUGGEST YOU RING FIRST). The food is first class but could be better with a bit more of it. Some of the sharing platters are a bit sparse for what you pay, especially on the daily menu and on the special night we went to. The food, however, was still good, and we enjoyed going.

We arrived at 1835hrs and greeted by a very unwelcoming male member of staff. Telling us we had 15 mins to order food and about an hour until last orders for drinks. Seeing on Instagram you are open until 8pm and having 25 minutes until last food orders I would have said we had adequate time. We instantly felt unwelcome and rushed. The staff at Winnies were lovely. We collected our food, which was really nice, especially the loaded fries!

The entire time we were sat trying to relax we were interrupted by the male member of staff collapsing umbrellas, dragging chairs, re-wiping the same tables repeatedly and turning the music off, ruining the atmosphere for all customers.

Essentially the set up here is fast food, as in we order our own food/ drinks and then collect same. There is no table service so I'm not sure why the original male was so put out with people providing him with custom for very little effort himself.

At 1940hrs we were told we needed to leave as they closed at 8. I did tell the member of staff we'd had a poor experience and felt really rushed. He's reply was he did tell us about times. If you advertise a 8pm closing time at least give your customers until 8pm to finish their drinks. We had 90 mins to dine and the entire 90 mins we were packed up around and then told to leave before 8pm. Other customers felt the same, and were threatened with having their car locked in the car park until morning if they didn't leave by 8pm

Very poor service, which is a shame as we have been a few times before and had...

Visited Arthur's café yesterday. Firstly the location/setting is delightful. A trainline runs directly behind the café, and there are places to walk close by, so the actual location is spot on and picturesque. Plenty of parking too. Walking up the little hill to the café, I was pleasantly surprised by how trendy and modern it looked. Once we got inside we were greeted by very cheerful staff. The place was clean, although much smaller than I imagined, but we had booked beforehand, so we weren't stood waiting around. In fact, the lovely staff member directed us to our table. It was very humid inside, so the café could perhaps do with air conditioning on hot days? As for the food/prices.. well my burger was a tad dry, with a clump of dry stringy lettuce you could barely cut through, and I wasn't overly impressed by the menu (no specials board?). Options were limited and a tad bland, but saying that, we didn't get to sample everything. One suggestion would be a nice "home-made" coleslaw to go with the burgers. I really liked the ambience of the place, and the staff were lovely, so I tipped for that reason, but the food/menu...
