An open day I thought we could treat my hubby and granddaughter to. An expectation to maybe sit in a bus or drivers cabin, even get a verbal guide/explanation of each bus inside museum, but NO. All it was, was a glorified bus enthusiast and collectors fair at best. Yes I know there were bus rides to and from Dewsbury, but being disabled would have been a nightmare to do. So disappointed that not one bus inside the museum, of which there were 6, could be explored. It took us £10 for two adults for a 10minute visit, but I suppose at least it gives the old buses a chance to be restored. 1* for disabled access and 1* for the buses that were on show. As for a public style event, it needs some big changes. Sorry...

I went to the Sundey 2nd November 2025 open-day.

All it was, was a bus enthusiast and collectors fair. There were bus rides but times weren't advertised.

You can't even explore the vintage buses inside the depot. No visual displays explaining the history of the bus itself.

There were displays on the walls but these were blocked by the stalls.

Portacabin toilet which smelt and didn't flush.

A outside cafe with no places to sit to enjoy a drink.

Not...

They put on an open day 3 open days a year, and provide bus rides between the museum and Dewsbury. A good afternoon out at minimal cost (the rides are free with a donation to the museum), be it only 3 times a year. The museum is open at other times and is always worth a look inside, to see how preservation...

Wonderful day out with fabulous pieces of history, only open on select days throughout the year (next one is march 2024) as they're all amazing volunteers working hard to restore precious pieces of history.
