Cakes could be more varied and a little more exciting, and my coffee was cold, but if they can warm up the cups and think more carefully about the cake presentation, the café would be very good indeed.
The coffee comes from two local coffee roasters and is fresh each day, together with the espresso machine, they make stunning coffee, rich, strong and flavoursome. Very few cafés offer coffee freshly roasted and ground that day and it makes all the difference.
The only problem is that they only have maybe four or five tables, so unless they take reservations, it will be hit or miss whether you can get a seat.
The service is wonderfully friendly and the café is welcoming and warm. I really wish they had premises twice the size, as finding a decent café in Holmfirth that isn't full...
Read moreWe've eaten here a few times now and every time has been top notch. These guys n gals are getting it ALL right. Firstly, they put the coffee front and centre, as you'd hope for a coffee shop, with specialty blends and methods on their own specials board. There was plenty of choice on the menu for breakfast, brunch, snacks and an array of speciality teas and coffees. We opted for the ‘specials’ - pumpkin spice hot chocolate and biscotti latte both of which were amazing. We also couple of cakes which were delicious. The staff seem to be mostly young girls who are very helpful and friendly. The whole place was clean and had a lovely atmosphere, and quirky decor. I always check out the toilets - On this occasion there was only one unisex toilet but it was clean. If I’m ever in Holmfirth again I would make a beeline...
