The manager was very unprofessional and extremely rude. My friend had bought me a drink with ice in and as I had a sip the drink tasted warm so I asked my friend to taste it and he said the same thing. The ice was still in the drink so it must have been the glass, having experience working in pubs and bars I know that glasses straight from the glass wash are hot so I just assumed that was the issue. I returned my drink to the bar and informed the bartender about my drink and glass being warm. I told him I wanted to buy another I was just letting them know why I wasn’t drinking it. The manager was stood next to the bartender turned and said ‘well it’s been sat there for 10 minutes’ it hadn’t and the ice hadn’t melted so that wasn’t the issue. I had apologised for complaining and had asked to buy a new drink so I ordered another of mine and one for my friend she said she’ll charge me for just the one. An hour goes by and the football is on so the pub is very loud and lively as expected, She then approaches my table and says ‘I’m sorry but can you keep your voice down because people are complaining’ singling me out on a table of 4. I pulled the manager to the side of the bar to ask why she had singled me out when I was clearly not the only loud one in there and asked if any customers had actually complained which they clearly hadn’t and she said that a few people had. She was being very unprofessional and extremely rude about the whole situation. All of this over my drink...
Read moreMy friends and I pop in occasionally, but last night was the last time. We purchased a few bottles of wine over the night then were told it was last orders at 9.30, however she mentioned she was cleaning and there was no rush to finish our wine. Bar staff were turning away customers around 9.40pm.. I mean who turns away money? It was around 9.47pm and she turned the music and lights off. We were sat in the dark trying to finish our wine. We then headed off and went home. This is shocking behaviour, but this isn’t the first time..
A few weeks ago several of us visited and spent a lot of money…many bottles or wine and drinks..On this night the bar manager was moody and clearly wanted to leave. At 10.25 she called last orders. We had just purchased a bottle of red and several drinks thinking last orders would be 10.45-11ish. She wasn’t happy about us buying the wine at 10.20 and was concerned if we could drink it quick enough. My friend asked for a drink around 10.35pm and was rudely refused. We were all surprised by this then decided to leave.
What type of pub employs rude bar staff that turns away customers? Online it states you close at 11pm but your hours fluctuate depending on who’s working and their attitude. Who on earth turns the lights off early and expects their customers to sit in the dark?
I hope Terry or who ever runs this place sorts this out. We won’t be going...
Read moreBooked a table for 8 of us for my mum's birthday and had to pre-book all our meals. Service was fab, one of our girls changed their mind about what they wanted to eat and they were more than happy to change the order, even though she then decided that stick with what she had ordered in the first place. Drinks were great; 2 of the same cocktails were cheaper than buying seperate different ones. Food took a bit longer to come out than we would have liked, but it was worth it. Hanging Kebabs were so yummy, Sister had steak n chips and she loved it. Pizza's not so much, daughter said the BBQ chicken pizza had far too much sauce witch overpowered it, but she ate most of it anyway. 6 of us had pudding. My daughter asked if she could have custard and ice cream with her brownie and again, she wasn't denied. Fab atmosphere all night. Looks like it's very popular with the locals to start a great night out in Lindley, but wasn't roudy. Classy bar/restaurant but comfy and relaxed. Would recommend to anyone wanting good food and great service. Will definitely be...
