Sher e Akbar — Restaurant in Kirklees

Yesterday I held a dinner reception for my friends & family at Sher e Akbar. A group of nearly 50 adults and quite a few kids of various ages.

The function went really well and everyone enjoyed the food and ambience. It turned out to be much better than what we have experienced before at larger establishments.

It appears to be family run. From the time I approached them to check availability the service and hospitality was exceptional. The management made every effort to meet my requirements and even made suggestions that suited me really well.

They prepared a buffet menu for me tailoring it based on the diaterry requirements of my guests. They then explained the chair and table decoration options they can offer and the associated costs. They were very reasonable and flexible.

The banquet hall on the first floor was really well decorated and easily accommodated all our guests even with the kids running around. They even offered sound system, microphone and party lights!

We had the hall for the full evening from 5pm to 10pm. The food was served fresh at agreed times with really good staff who made sure all my guests were eating well. They even engaged the kids with toys and carried them to allow the parents to have their meal in peace.

The overall experience was exceptional! I am glad i decided to use Sher e Akbar after seriously considering some of the bigger and better known establishments, function halls, restaurants and hotels around Huddersfield. What they may lack in terms of street appeal is quickly made up by the best service and quality tasty fresh food. We a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 children) had a great time at this family friendly and welcoming restaurant. The food was delicious, as was the experience. All four members of staff encountered were so nice, smiles all round and treated us as if we were family. The two chefs, especially the customer facing chap and both sisters were so nice and attentative ensuring we as a family got what we required. We were consistently checked upon and spoken to appropriately and we were given a high quality bespoke buffet experience catering to all our needs. Even on leaving the two sisters spent time speaking to us and hugged my wife and daughter and engaged with the younger children in such a kind way. A Hidden Gem in Huddersfield – Sher e Akbar

From the moment we walked into Sher e Akbar, we were warmly welcomed by the incredibly polite, friendly, and helpful staff. The service was truly second to none – attentive without being intrusive, and you could genuinely feel the pride they take in looking after their guests.

The food was Absolutely exceptional! Every dish we ordered was bursting with rich, authentic flavours that tasted just like real home-cooked Indian cuisine. You could tell the chef’s heart and soul went into every dish – nothing felt rushed or commercialised. It’s rare to find a place where the food feels so comforting and genuine.

The restaurant itself was spotless, adding to the overall experience of care and quality. Whether you’re a fan of Indian food or trying it for the first time, Sher e Akbar is a must-visit.
