Disgraceful. Utterly beyond words, Absolutley disgusted with the local behaviour. Pub has been nicely done up, staff were friendly, restuarant staff even more so and very helpful. However locals made jokes about "hope the staff spit in your food you xxxxxxx Busy's" (Busy is a local term for Police Officer). We laughed it off and went upstairs to the Resturant, but after realising it was TAPAS and not the pub meal we intended decided to leave, on the way out of the pub we had another verbal altercation with the same lads in the pub, as we walked out one fella said "its those two lads again", my friend asked them "are you not happy?", and one of them responded with "We are now you are leaving", i interjected with "Whats your problem?". His response "I've never seen you before". Needless to say my friend and I were shocked. I feel like we had walked into a Bar in Alabama and were welcomed with "We don't like your kind around here".We walked away in utter disbelief. To add context I was dressed clearly as a tradesman in messy clothes and work boots, my friend too a fellow tradesman also wasnt exactly dressed up either. To say i am disgusted is an understatement, i have no doubt these men in this pub were low level gangsters from Huyton and i will be telling everyone i know this story and to avoid this place like the plague. I hope the land lord reads this and checks over the footage of his CCTV to find the culprits and enject them from his premises. For his reference it was roughly around 6 to 7pm on the 20th of June. And finally as a bit of irony, though i had never been seen in the pub before and thus am a "stranger", i live 100 metres away from this establishement. and until the final altercation was planning on bringing my partner to the TAPAS resturant at a later date. Little wonder the pub trade struggles with...
Read moreI enjoyed a fantastic time in The Carrs Hotel, Whiston when I went to my cousin's secret 60th Birthday celebration party, especially since it is under 'New Ownership'.. All the staff were very friendly and made everone very welcome.
There was a very good selection of beers and spirits to be had at great value prices, everywhere was clean and fresh, all the rooms are very spacious especially the separate room that was available for all the catering arrangements, and can also be a nice sanctuary without a big screen TV if one prefers a quite time out without sport programmes, having said that there are plenty of big screen TV's to watch all of the sport of choice.
Everyone enjoyed a really good time especially with the Live singing act entertainment, I'm looking forward to my next visit to The Carrs Hotel...
Read moreIf you want to replicate the platters available through the week, go to Iceland. Its just frozen food from there, cooked in the oven.... unless you order cheesey chips, then it's oven chips, which are put in the microwave to melt the cheese. You couldn't pay me to go back.
We had a Chinese platter and the rib and chicken wing platter at our table. If they're not oven chips, they weren't cooked correctly. Also the cutlery was dirty, and there was a hoover on the table behind us. I didn't feel like it was somewhere to go for something to eat, I felt as if we were in a storage room with boxes, and hoovers laying...
