I was surprised by the quality of the food here - I thought I was going for a quick café bite and ended off with gourmet-level food. There's nothing vegetarian on the mains menu but it looks like there's always a veggie option on the specials board, and, I mean, this is a meat shop business, so I didn't expect much choice or love, but I was wrong: nut roast with veg was a quality affair, a slight curried variation on the normal recipe, but not overpowering. Veg crisp and well done, thin gravy was lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Now, and let's remember this was great food, the niggles: Heart FM plays loudly, a commercial radio station, so you end off listening to adverts for much of your meal! And the jam glaze on the nut roast rendered the whole thing a bit sweet for my palette. Great stuff though, really great.

Visited today for the first time and won't go again. Slow service just to get a cup of coffee. I've had meals produced faster. The coffee was nice but a bit on the expensive side. We were going to eat there but figured he a coffee took this long maybe we wouldn't bother. Not a great menu anyway. Didn't see any gluten free menus either. Table could have done with a wipe down as it still had marks on from last customer.Such a shame.

Me and my fiancee stumbled on this spot rather by accednt, what a fortunate accedent it was let me tell you!. We had been looking for a regular breakfast spot for a while and finally we have found somewhere great, the breakfast was perfect, fresh and tasty. The staff were freindly and professional and the atmosphere was great overall a fantastic experience I have no complaints only praise! 10/10 A1 we will be coming back!

Countrystyle Meats is situated on Lancaster Leisure Park to the south of the city next to Lancaster Brewery. The shop is a farm style shop with a local butcher and green grocer specialising in local or fair trade foods and goods as well as showcasing other local businesses such as bakers and ice cream makers.

The prices are higher than the local supermarket but the quality of food is significantly higher resulting in a generally better and more budget friendly experience. Take for instance the homemade burgers. Although the price of a pack of two (or four if a budget brand) of burger from the supermarket there is little to no shrinkage while cooking resuilting in an end product two to three times the size of its budget counterpart with 100% meat and no injected water or rusk. So the final product is the same to greater value.

That aside there are often butcher's specials and shop bargains that bring prices down and the staff are helpful and supportive. We buy almost all of our meats and local...

Me and my 2 sisters visited the cafe 19th April, 2024 for my birthday ,needless to say we will not return ,it advertised fish chips peas, haddock or pollack, we ordered Haddock , the meal came the fish batter was full of grease , the inside was awful it certainly wasn't haddock. The garden peas were very hard and chips werent much better Not one of us ate it ,we complained the head person came to see us and apologised ,he said " we haven't been able to get haddock for weeks and he wouldn't eat anything but haddock himself " he commented "I will talk to the chef when the Caffè closes and slap his legs " he offered us a cup of tea or a scoop of ice cream each , we declined his offer, came out as hungry as we went in , very...
