Currently running out of a charming little cabin at the bottom of the steps — most of the seating is fenced off, so your dining options are “wet grass” or “hope it doesn’t rain.” We paid just over £16 for a burger and a jacket potato, which would be fine if the food was halfway decent. Spoiler: it wasn’t.
The burger was a sad little thing, thin and underwhelming, served in one of those long-life buns that taste like disappointment and preservatives. Honestly, it looked like it missed being in school dinners. The chips were the highlight — which is kind of tragic when you think about it.

Read moreSchool holidays, nice day, so the place was packed, and the embattled staff were flat out to cope. Queuing out the door so it was around 10 minutes to get to order and then about 15-20 mins wait for hot food.
That being said, the food was good and the portion sizes decent for the price. There is also a free water fountain for refilling bottles etc. Would eat there again.
The table next to us didn't have as good an experience as they had waited 40 mins for food only to be told their order had been lost. The manager did come over to try to make things right. Other than that the staff seemed to be working...
