Strawberry Gardens — Restaurant in Lancaster

Came here on Saturday for a meal with the family is my boys birthday. It was pretty quite. The table was filthy and we Had some real bad meals. No fish and no sirlion steak so ended up with rump steaks. 3 off of them and other meals as there were 8 of us. The stakes were terrible. Really fatty and couldn't chew it. Looked like it had been cut through the middle and folded over. My boy spat most of his out. I seemed to have a kids order of chips as everyone else had many more than me. Asked for med/well done and was still really pink inside and so fatty. The girl at the till who took our 2nd drink order gave us ice when i said no ice in 3 large cokes and didn't even ask how the meal was or even say hello. Quite rude when you work front of house. There was a gentleman on the bar when we arrived and he was brilliant taking our drink order and sat us down A real credit to you. Shame really as we live local and come here quite abit. Will not be returning for food ever again. £130 wasted and grumpy kids. Happy Saturday...

We entered from the carpark.Through the outdoor seating area.Down some steps and through the door.You are now facing the bar.If you walk forward without looking down,you get a nasty surprise.There is another small step down,which is not obviously visible.It blends in with the general floor colour. Luckily i did not fall.Just stumbled forward.There aren't any warning signs. Could cause an accident. The place itself is drab and lacking atmosphere. Only 2 Female staff on duty.So had to continuously wait for service. The two staff were not very friendly and didn't seem to care much about anything.The food came on cold plates. The reply from the lady serving me was.I dont work in the kitchen. HOT FOOD ON A COLD PLATE IS A NO! NO! Just plain common sense and should form part of any good restaurant. Food was nice.Nothing special.Just good pub grub. The lack of staff and their.Why am i here attitude spoilt the experience. I'm sure i can find better and...

Went in for dinner on Saturday afternoon to a fairly quiet pub, we ordered our food at the bar and was told it would be a 30 minute wait for food, fine it is what it is. 1 hour and fifteen minute later food had still not arrived. In this time a table of 8 came in 30 minutes after ourselves, sat down, ordered, and had there food and ate it before we got ours. When we asked the bar staff about our food we were told they were just plating it up, 20 mins later it finally came out, and I wish it hadn’t, disgusting is an understatement. I’m not expecting much from the strawberry gardens but you wouldn’t give that food to your dog. I can’t even say it’s a one off as it was the same the last time we visited but came back thinking that was a one off, our mistake. Will not be going back again and would suggest to people to walk the extra 5 mins down to the Royal in...
