Sadly a very disappointing experience! We were told on booking, that on a Sunday night last orders were at 19.30pm and so we would need to be at the table by 19.00pm. We decided to arrive at 18.45pm to help with their service, only to be left waiting for 20mins at our table without a drink or our food order. During this time, I watched the staff standing at the Bar and talking to eachother, serving other tables for drink and food orders. Tables were left unchecked, start plates weren't cleared away, service was SO slow and no one in the restaurant seemed happy. I eventually got a waitresses attention and explained we had been waiting for 20mins without an order, the excuse was that they had been busy. I said we'll you have only 5 tables in here and I've watched you serving everyone else before us, she did apologise and took our order. My drink was done incorrectly, another table got their roast dinners and didn't eat them, we asked what was wrong and they said everything is old and over done and they couldn't eat them. At this point I decided to cancel our roast dinner and burger order and pay for only our drinks and poor starters. There was no apology, staff didn't seem to know what they were doing on the till. Manager apparently only apologised for the bad roast dinners on the table of 4 and took some money off. Not what you want on your holidays!! The worst experience I...

We were staying in the holiday park so naturally had a look at this onsite bar and restaurant. Initially quite surprised to find the restaurant closed Monday and Tuesday. And last orders at 9pm. We went back later in the week to be welcomed by a flutter of panic by the bar staff as we hadn't booked a table. Despite there only being about Five tables occupied. It seemed the bar staff had to ask permission from the Chef if it was ok that we sat and ordered food. So we were fumbled to a table and told we couldn't order food until 7pm, despite it being 6.45pm. so we sat and had a drink. Next to all of this we were told that no pizza and garlic bread was available, as the pizza oven was broken. The food that we did order was to a very good standard. For starters we both had the Duck Fritters. Definitely no complaints there. My wife had fish and chips which was ok, good portion size. I ordered a halloumi burger which was also to quite a reasonable standard. Nicely put together, well cooked, flavours balanced nicely. With a good size portion of chips. It has a lovely big outside seating area next to the water. The people were friendly and the service was...

Well, where do we start? We came down from our lodge without a booking, as it happened the restaurant was fully booked. After asking if they could possibly squeeze us in, they moved a few things around and managed to get us a table! We have an autistic child which can be challenging for us all and can be anxious for us before we even arrive but all the staff made us feel at ease from the beginning, we even had to vacate the table we were on as our autistic child was not wanting to be inside the restaurant environment. Despite not serving food to outside tables they made and exception without hesitation and made every effort to accommodate us whichever way they could which felt amazing for us after previous experiences elsewhere. Anyway, let’s get to the food, two adults got a large fish and chips, absolutely 10/10 easily! Two children shared a ham and pineapple pizza which was fantastic and there was nothing left after they’d finished. And our other child had chicken nuggets and chips which he ate all of, fantastic food!.. overall 10/10 would go there time after time, staff are amazing and go above and beyond, amazing! We...

Very nice venue overlooking the lake. Staff there are very friendly. Service was good, it was fairly busy and we had to wait, but it didn't feel like we had to wait too long. There were relaxed gaps in between courses that were appreciated, if you were in a rush you might have faulted them, but for our meal it was cool. The menu is great, having a wide variety of options. The prices were not too bad, there were some expensive options on the specials, but there were also less expensive menu items such as burgers, pizzas etc. So I'd image something to suit everyone. The kids menu was good value and good quality. The overall quality of the food was excellent. Some really interesting combinations and twists on traditional menu items. If you've eaten at your average Mash and Barrel on holiday in the past - this is next level, much better quality. This is reflected in the price, but all in all we felt like it was worth it.

Fantastic food and great views, a good selection of dishes ranging from small plates to full meals. I had the beef flatbread which was very well cooked. A good selection of wines and beers on offer at the bar. We didn't try the deserts but they looked very nice. The decking area is definitely somewhere to enjoy a nice drink on a sunny evening.

I'm going to list all the negatives here first. 1. the website has a different menu which says black pudding fritters, they didn't have them. Ok that's it 4 of us eating, every dish was generously portioned. Recommended pizza with chilli honey. And the artisan bread. Service was great from Holly and Olivia attentive and genuine.
