We celebrated my mum’s 60th birthday at Callio, and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The owner and the team couldn’t have done enough for us, they were so accommodating and made the whole evening feel really special. Our reservation was for 4:30, but they kindly let us pop over to the bar opposite for some of the best 2-for-1 cocktails beforehand and even allowed us to bring them back to the restaurant!
The atmosphere at Callio is amazing, and the staff are incredibly attentive. They went the extra mile by decorating the table for us, which made my mum’s birthday feel even more special. The food is absolutely incredible, every dish was packed with flavor and beautifully presented. We all had such a great time thanks to the wonderful service.
Best of all, there were no restrictions on decorations or bringing a cake, so we could celebrate properly without any stress. Thank you so much to everyone at Callio for making it such a memorable night, we’ll definitely be back! Highly recommend to anyone looking for incredible food, a lovely atmosphere, and...
Read moreWhat a disappointment. We went for a special treat. Food was nice, and we both enjoyed our dishes but sadly they have a long way to go in terms of customer relations. We were told we 'needed to move' halfway through our meals as they needed the table for 7 people. Once moved, we were offered complimentary desserts by a different member of staff, only to find that we were charged for one of them on the bill. I queried this and was told by the owner 'no you were only entitled to chocolate and you asked for baclava' but I was told by the lady at the time a list of complimentary desserts which we could choose from and baclava was on the list. He continued to argue and told me that they needed to 'make a profit' which I thought was a bit rich considering they own the takeaway across the road and another in a neighbouring town. The dessert was £6.99. We just got out coats and left. Won't be going back if this is how they treat their customers. I'd highly recommend Zoya in woodlesford if you would like a nice meal and would like to be treated with a...
Read moreIt would be hard to find fault with this excellent restaurant. Outstanding Mediterranean cuisine, not one of our party of ten, had anything but praise for the meal. Considering the size of our table, nothing was too much trouble. The staff were attentive and so friendly. The menu offered such a wide choice of both starters and mains, all of which sounded so nice that I had trouble deciding. I was not disappointed with my choice of a grilled Camenbert with honey to start, and main course of Lamb Chops. Both dishes were outstanding. I'm certainly looking to return in the very near future to try other delights from the menu. The prices make it possible to indulge yourself, and perhaps a friend, without costing you a fortune. I highly...
