Falconers Rest — Restaurant in Leeds

Having noticed that the pub had recently closed for a makeover I decided to give it another try.

The positives: The decor is all new & has a bright new look. The beer garden is quite large with a grassed play area for kids.

The negatives: The pub missing a selection of cask ales. I ordered a Guinness only to find they served it from a can - A CAN FOR CHRIST SAKE!

I'm really disappointed that the pub can't be bothered selling anything decent. Maybe it's a blessing that my local pub doesn't sell cask ales.

Living locally I had tried this 10 years ago but it wasn't very inspiring.

10 years on I thought I'd give it another try. Whilst I was ordering at the bar, a woman was changing a baby's nappy 5 feet away - nice. One of the chairs we were going to sit on had a half eaten sandwich on it. When we left we returned our glasses to the bar, but the landlady couldn't be bothered to look up from her phone to say thanks or goodbye!

Staff are rude and disrespectful couldn't care less about the customers. Glasses, floor, tables and seating were sticky. The price of drinks changed later on into the night when I asked why I was been charged more (been served by the manager/owner) it was because I was drinking doubles (that's all I'd bought all day). Then they had the cheek to I.D. me after drinking in there for 6 hours+ without been I.D'd once till then, but not the 2 young ladies at the side of me at the bar getting served alcohol, later finding out 1 of them was only 13... Yet the children in the family had been asked to leave by 8pm even though we had been to a...

Started to come in here recently and really enjoy it. All the staff make me feel welcome, the atmosphere is amazing. New dj is great and really finding he's feet and settling in. I would recommend this pub to anyone. Amanda and Joe are really getting the community back together. Amazing 👏 I always come in on a Wednesday and a Sunday for the bingo and what a fun night it is.
