First post op outing since surgery and I’m not entirely sure where to begin, in a good way !! Staff were all lovely in particular Ava our server who was on point , super professional and just utterly delightful!!!
First visit so we wanted to sample different dishes , we shared the bacon bites , tacos and corn dogs talk about a taste party on your tongue ….The bacon bites cooked to perfection and melted in your mouth …corn dogs you just have to give them a go and the tacos little tasty explosions !!! Onto the mains we shared the sharing platter, hubby had the go big go home burger …we shared the Mac cheese and onion rings sides ! Ok well I didn’t get much of a look in with the Mac cheese as the daughter hoovered this up but it was by far hands down the best Mac cheese ever and the cheese pull just went on and on and on !
The onions rings were huge and not at all greasy , perfectly cooked and the dip super tasty!! The burger was banging ( hubbys words not mine ) and the sharing platter will live rent free on my tastebuds for ever ….the brisket mind blowing 🤯 the ribs devine the fries 🍟 crispy and the beans other worldly…coleslaw and pickles perfect to freshen the palate in between the protein hits!!the dipping sauce too good to share so order more trust me you want your own !!! !Corn bread is super cool like a sponge which soaks up all those dip spills and crispy bits !!! Grape soda took me back to New York and is my all time favourite….all finished off with toasted marshmallows and chocolate dip !! We brought so much home as just too much to get through 😍 such good value for money.
What a treat, what an utterly indulgent amazing evening …we have just found a little bit of Texas minus the flight time …we will without question return and I would heartily recommend to anyone wanting to try bbq and the most amazing cooked meats to pay Hickory’s a visit .
Thank you again to Ava who kindly gifted me some grape soda as a get well present - how thoughtful and totally unexpected , a perfect end to the...
Read moreThere was no disabled parking so for me it was a long walk from parking the car to getting to the door. There was music playing as we approached the door and I could see it was packed so obviously very popular. I think it was a nice touch that a bottle of water along with a little bag of sweet and salty popcorn was brought to the table to nibble on whilst waiting to order food and drinks. I think the price for larger and wine was astronomical. It was £9.60 for 2 bottles of Miller which was 1 pint and £19 for 2 glasses of white wine which was in total 500 mls of an average sauvignon blanc. We got the smokehouse platter for 2. It was filling however some of the ribs were a little dry and tough and the chicken wings were OK. The sausage, which you only get one between two was delicious. There was a nice bite to it with a little bit of heat and I could have eaten a whole one to myself. The pulled pork with pit beans was soft, delicious with a really delicious sauce. The cornbread was a nice surprise. It was a little sweet but was such a good addition to all the savoury meat. To be honest there was only a tiny portion of slaw and pickles which were tasty but I would have liked a bit more when sharing between two because they cut through the richness of the meat. I didn't realise until I got home that the gravy was missing from our platter which was a shame. We had the magic dust on the fries which cost £1 extra and I think that should be free because it's only a little sprinkle. The staff were very friendly and extremely attentive without being over the top. We got chatting briefly to a couple who were seated at the table next to us just as we were finishing. They hadn't booked and had waited 3 hours for a seat. There was a great atmosphere with music playing and happy birthday being sung a couple of times. Some parts of the platter were really delicious and some were a bit of a disappointment and the price of the alcohol means I...
Read moreOur favorite place to eat! Obviously the food is incredible! We always order the sharing platter for 2, as you get to try a variety of all the meats. You will be stuffed after this platter so make sure you wear extra stretchy pants! The memphis style ribs are my favourite, along with the smoked cheese and jalapeño sausage and not to mention the bourbon glazed style chicken wings. The beef brisket is something else and so delicious dipped in the tennessee bourbon gravy! For dessert I had the honeycomb Fro Co, which was so delicious and I'm not really a dessert kind of girl, but this was just so tasty and just the right amount!
When we're at Hickory's we feel like we're in a proper American Smokehouse with that texas feel! Everything about this place we love. Every detail that's gone into the decor is amazing! The atmosphere is great! The staff are all wonderful, the bar staff, the service staff, the hosts, the managers and the chefs. All staff make you feel so welcomed! We have come here time and time again and have always had the best time! They make you feel like a special individual with their service! They create a great atmosphere for birthdays and special occasions. At the end of our meal, we were offered a free celebration dessert, as there was a birthday in our party and I was offered a gift voucher for mamas and papas for the pregnancy of mine and my partners first child. You cannot fault this place! They didn't have to do this as we really enjoyed everything anyway, but to add that extra bit of special service just makes this place a wonderful place to have a meal with your family!
Thank you Hickory's, I'm sure you'll be seeing us again and we will continue to recommend this Smokehouse to all our...
