Well what can I say for a few minutes my partner and I stood at the counter for a few minutes being ignored then I turned to my partner to ask if they don't serve people like us? A member of staff over heard and asked us to sit at a table as it is table service only, OK Now two people are walking the floor one of whom asked us to sit at a table has not even appeared us with a menu, now we've been in here 15 minutes sat at a table with a dirty blue table cloth used to wipe down I presume to be the tables. The manager came out from the kitchen area and begun to clear a table next to us, I asked her when are going to be served as we've been sat here 15 minutes and the two floor walkers which by the way one of them asked us to sit at a table 'TOTALLY BLANKED US" wow Im starting to wonder if my partner and I are even welcome here because the staff don't appear to care or even look intrested in us being in the establishment, which is a Public establishment. Both my partner and I are born of Leeds City and been here all our lives up to now, Leeds is and has always been a beautiful city to live in and yes it has its ups and downs and and a few Culture clashes, but never the less, people are peoples no matter what race, colour, or creed No person should be made to feel less than another especially in a public place such as Roundhay Park café, the manager was lovely, she was on the floor helping to keep the cafe clean and in ship shape 👍🏾up to her, thank you for your assistance. But one thing I would like to say I have a catering background and never have witnessed such Negativity as here today, Thurs 30th March 2023 One more thing we have noticed there is no diversity in the staff which makes us wonder what their views are with regard to employment and equal opportunities? As Leeds is of a multi cultural metropolis. We love Leeds and Yorkshire as a whole but at times we feel doesn't love us back as the way it should. How sad.😔

I've visited many times in the past but not for some time, we were in the park today so decided to revisit. Obviously things aren't normal right now but systems are in place and they're operating a kind of one way system and bringing people in through the side entrance. Once you've queued you're asked for your details and your temperature taken, at that point you then see the NHS trace QR code to scan that replaces giving your details manually. We were given an odd table, number 3 IIRC, that's hear the door but one side was blocked off by cushions so you had to shuffle in from one side along the bench. I think they said the cushions were covering a wet patch. Menus came and an order was placed with a pleasant chap keen to upsell a walnut cake. We resisted. The order came pretty quickly and I have to say I was disappointed. The flat white was somewhat weak, the lemon drizzle cake ice cold and the scone dry but the milkshake was a joke. £4 for something that tasted like 50p premixed stuff from the supermarket. There were tell-tale bottles of "Crusha" on the counter but the waitress that took my (full) payment (and milkshake feedback) insisted it was made with ice cream and cream. I'm not convinced, frothed milk and fake syrup at best. Awful. It's a shame as it's such a prime location in a lovely park, complacency seems to have set in and the captive audience is clearly enough for them to stay busy enough to justify the drop in standards compared with when we used to visit. Oh and put some oil on the squeaky kitchen door, it's incredibly annoying.

We visited the Lakeside Café at Roundhay Park and was really disappointed. The café wasn’t busy and there seemed to be plenty of staff to cover the tables, yet we were sat around messy uncleared tables for over 45 minutes. We ordered 2 cappuccinos, a halloumi wrap, and a chilli con carne jacket potato, which came to around £29. The coffees were lovely which was probably the only highlight. Unfortunately, the food was very poor. My jacket potato was plain, dry, and served without butter. The chilli on top was lukewarm, and when I mentioned this to the server, I said it wasn’t something I’d even serve to my dog. For the price, you’d expect at least some cheese or sour cream, but we were told we’d need to pay extra for those. My boyfriend’s halloumi wrap was just as underwhelming, plain and lacking flavour, though he didn’t send it back. I was offered a replacement and chose the smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel, which was very basic. The toilets also had a strong smell of urine, which made using them unpleasant. The scenery around the café is stunning, but sadly the food and service were a real let down.

What a fantastic experience... I'm talking about the walk around the beautiful park surrounding this cafe of course.

Went for a walk with a girl I'm seeing and we had a great time until it came to lunch. We pondered on where to go to grab a bite to eat and we noticed the cafe was packed which we assumed to be a good sign? Maybe our experience would be different on a quieter day which is the only reason I've given two stars instead of one.

Confused about how the system here works we walked in, not greeted by anyone, to then sit down confused on wether or not we go up to order or wait for a waitress or waiter. Thirsty after our long walk around the park, no waiter or waitress came and asked what we would like to drink despite the fact there were several available. I then walked over to one of the waiters and asked if we could order drinks, he said no problem but proceeded to disappear for a further ten minutes before coming over to our table - by this point I was tempted to drink the water from the lake out back because of how thirsty I was.

I'll keep the food part pretty short considering there wasn't much to say. Cheese on the panini wasn't melted, food was cold, colder than my pint of lager from my warm glass anyway. Halloumi fries weren't halloumi, they were the exact same as mozzarella sticks you get from McDonalds, only McDonalds are hot... and don't claim to be halloumi.

Pretty disappointed overall, we should have just grabbed a cornetto from the ice cream...
