Not the best experience for my first visit. I had to call a member of staff to get my drinks ordered then had to wait again to call a member of staff to place our food order. My starter was not what I ordered, I didn't make the staff aware as I chose to have what had been served. Whilst my party were still having their starters, the servers started to clear the ones that had finished which was very rude and not something I have ever experienced. The mains came out for 4 of us the 5th one had to wait for 10 minutes before his food arrived, when his food did arrive it was a steak (most of which was inedible due to it being quite fatty and tough and he left half of it) and he was not even given a steak knife so had to struggle with what he did have until he had to ask the server, no one asked if we wanted anymore drinks and again the staff started to pick empty plates off the table before we had all finished our food. Towards the end of the meal a team of 4 descended on the table to clear it despite one of the party still eating and even at this point no one asked if we wanted to have anything else. Funnily enough and to add to the rushed experience, we hadn't even asked for the bill but it was brought to us promptly within the space of 30 seconds of the table clearing, funny because it took 10 mins at the start for us to sit down before we were even asked about drinks and again that was when we prompted. I found it a very disconcerting experience and was not able to enjoy my meal at all. All the party were on edge because it became very apparent they wanted us out. For a Friday evening it was unusual that the place was closing at 10:30 but by the by, it was 10 by the time we 'finished' our food and we felt rushed to leave. There were several large parties there and it seemed quite evident that the tactics employed by them was to try and clear the premises as quickly as possible to encourage the large parties to leave before closing. The servers themselves were ok but the majority of the behaviours and customer service seemed false and insincere. One of the servers that was serving us seemed quite apologetic at certain points when clearing tables whilst some of us were still eating so it's apparent that the behaviours are set by management in terms of 'efficiency' but does not make for a pleasant dining experience. I and none of my fellow diners will ever be visiting this establishment and certainly shall not...

A wonderful dining experience! Hands down, just a fantastic meal served by helpful and knowledgeable staff who go above and beyond with the service they provide. We moved tables to sit outside after we had ordered as the evening sun was still warm and we wanted to take advantage of it, nothing to do with interior of the restaurant (which is fun) or other diners who were tucking in to mouthwatering dishes around us. We ordered a popular starter on the advice of our server, a spicy fried chicken dish, Kkanpung-gi, that quickly was devoured, the idea of sharing was out the window and this became almost competitive eating. We also ordered the gyoza and these similarly impressed and disappeared as quickly as our chopsticks could transport them to our mouths. With these devoured we sat back with the satisfaction you only get from enjoying excellent food, seconds before our mains arrived. I had ordered the Bibimbap, a favourite dish that I enjoy. The staff here have taken it to another level, presented in a hot stone bowl the ingredients finishing in the bowl, I dived in. It was excellent, simply sublime. I will quite happily drive hours to enjoy this kind of food and will definitely come back to Yokohama for their excellent food and the kind service and recommendations of their staff. My only problem will be whether to try new dished they recommend or sticking to old favourites? I'll probably order both. The staff recommended drinks and on their recommendations I ordered some of the soft drinks to go as well because I enjoyed them so much. If you don't know what to order the staff will be happy to help you choose, they help make what is already a strong establishment...

Have to agree with Lizzie who's not long reviewed. i think we may have been there at the same time lol. We were in Leeds for the day and I was so excited to go and try this '5*' rated place. Restaurant was absolutely freezing, my sons hands were warm when we took him in, cold when we left. He's been quiet and relaxed everywhere else we've gone with him but wasn't at all happy here. They shoved everyone in together as well and one of the other tables (probably lizzie and her husband) had to ask for the heating to be turned on but im not sure if it was as it felt the same in there. I wish i complained while i was in there.

Service from the ladies there was really amateurish. Food was bland, i heard a korean customer asking for pepper as well so even they found it bland. I dont mind paying more for quality but left feeling like i got robbed. They charged £2.50 or £3 for cans and while drinking it i noticed it was from a multipack (not to be sold separately) 🤣 at least charge us the normal price for a can in that case guys. Wish I'd taken a pic of it haha.

I have to admit, the number 17 is absolutely gorgeous 😍 so maybe just order that if you fancy some fried chicken bites, the sauce that it comes in is magical. Order to takeout though otherwise you'll be paying the forced service charge for being ignored for all of your meal.

I'd love for the restaurant to respond to this and see if they agree and admit the faults, otherwise, best of luck with your 5* reviews wherever...

My wife and I had the pleasure of dining at Hama, a Korean restaurant in Oakwood, Leeds, on Valentine's Day. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, making us feel right at home. The venue itself was gorgeous, featuring high ceilings and subtle decorations that added to the romantic ambiance. For starters, we chose the Seaweed Salad and Prawn Kanpungi. The seaweed had an unusual texture but was absolutely delicious, while the prawns were full of flavour and perfectly cooked. For our main course, we enjoyed the Beef Bulgogi, served with two portions of rice. The beef was tender and succulent, making it a standout dish. However, the highlight of our meal was the Soft Tofu Stew. It had the perfect mix of heart-warming spice, flavours, and textures, making it the best dish we tried that evening. Overall, Hama provided us with a memorable dining experience, and we look forward to returning soon. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Korean cuisine in a beautiful setting.

Food was nice and I would have scored 5 star if: No smell of rubbish in the veranda upstairs coming from outside; If no bucket would be kept on the first floor to store the dirty dishes taken from tables; If the cleaning product were not aligned on the serving stations like I was at HomeBargain; If the supervisor would not challenge me asking to justify myself for refusing to pay the service charge, i rather give a tip; If the light would have not be switched while I was still at table( felt unwelcomed). If the asian girl maybe the manager would not serve water for the dog in the bowl clearly used in the kitchen..in fact she brought the big bowl back to the kitchen making me wonder If the food has been prepared in that bowl. It is a pity because the restaurant and food is nice but the cleaning and operation standard let it down.
