Aashiqs — Restaurant in Lichfield

Well well well.. the food was nice .8/10 However . The attitude from one particular individual was awful upon departure . An argument erupted at the bar on the basis of a general comment made on the mannerism of one of the waiters present at the time . He raised his voice in such an argumentative way defending his colleague that it became threatening to a degree that seperation had to be made .between myself and him The offer i had was if you don't like it do not come here again" to which i walked out and left my partner in argument rather than a confrontation in front of other customers enjoying their food . Such a shame as the food was very nice There are particular individuals who have the natural skills to be nice unfortunately there was one on this occasion who was ultra offensive bordering on the physical . this person doesn't deserve his place in this establishment in retrospect of this experience .he had absolutely no ground to defend what he couldn't see in his colleagues mannerisms in line with general manners . Manners cost nothing in life and to the request of this horrible man we will not be...

We looked forward to trying Aashiqs for the first time after it being recommend to us … however after asking for one of the curries to be reduced in oil. We found it to be still swimming in oil. We appreciate curry houses aren’t going to be the healthiest take out but it was a small request we thought. All other curry houses can make a curry that isn’t pooling in oil in the area. The biryani side curry was also swimming in oil admittedly more than the other curry. So much so I didn’t even attempt to eat it. Otherwise the food we did eat was nice and tasted flavoursome. The portions are generous, it’s reasonably priced and they used good quality chicken. So if you don’t mind a pool of oil surrounding your food then this is an ok choice. When ringing to discuss our concern, the gentleman just argued with us and said it is less oil than usual but for a balti we use a gravy which already contains oil. Then without even letting me finish my sentence… he put the phone down on us. So after that we will be taking our custom elsewhere in the future, shocking and dreadful...

I can’t rate as I never got to fulfil my booking … booked for Wednesday night as we know it is busy … we got there at our designated time only to be told they were full and they do not look at their booking system 🤷‍♀️ why ask you to download the app and book a table when the reservations are never looked at … as we were told by the waiter 🤷‍♀️ We have tried to do our best by going out to eat local .. and booking in advance … what a waste of our time and money 🤬 So disappointed to receive such terrible customer service 🥲 What cost of living crisis 🤔 we get disappointed so many times by restaurants that either serve rubbish food or their customer service is really not bothered whether you eat at their establishment or not 🤷‍♀️ Rant over but I am sure Assiqu’s could not give a fig if we eat there or not Such a sorry state...
