The Fox & Hounds — Restaurant in Lichfield

It was really packed, in bars but staff were just coping, watched food order go to kitchen, 3/4 hour later nothing only one other table they were eating starters & were served mains they appeared to be known by cook,when we chased told only one chief ,we were told 10 mins atleast 1/2 hour served by chief, apology for delay. Advised waitress when she came to table we had only just been served she walked off sayingnothing ! My wife said cod was greasy said old fat used & my peas were undercooked. I had veg burger didn't like it being Smothered in very Sweet chutney but thats a personal thing burger was great . No one asked if things were ok My beer had run out but but had a good alternative. No issues with bar staff very busy but not surprised not many dining. I realise places have difficulty getting staff but not a great experience. Have been coming here for Sunday lunch for a long time but haven't been for eight weeks. The bar maid informed me of the change of manager..... Oh my and can't u tell. Mash vile like a powder mash never in a month of Sundays is it real mash potato. Beef very over done and raw yourkshire pudding what a let down I'm. So angry. I would advise you stay away from here even down to the bad radio station 100.7 heart fm playing in the background..... Such a shame was a great pub but please be warned do not. Eat here food quality has been lost and management well seems to be none....... ...

3 of us had a great lunch here, fish & chips, burger & beef ciabatta. Perfect for lunch, freshly cooked, hot & very tasty, the fish was lovely, the 2 beef dishes were apparently delicious too. We finished with yummy chocolate brownies. We had wine & Guinness, all served perfectly. Prices were so reasonable, the staff were lovely, & there was a really nice atmosphere in the pub- we will definitely eat here again, & I’ve already suggested it to friends as a great...
