Not a review of the restaurant - it's always fantastic, can't recommend enough - so much as the behaviour of one of the customers we were sat in front of tonight which appalled me. I overheard a woman mentioning that her food was "tough" to the waitress (these things can happen in restaurants I suppose), but how she spoke to the waitress was really quite disgusting. Apparently this lady has a daughter who frequents the restaurant often and said she would take her food home (in the free boxes provided to her by the restaurant no less) as evidence to show her daughter the alleged "tough" food, and made a point of telling the staff this while also refusing the discount on the bill which was offered to her. The waitress was incredibly polite and apologetic, explaining that they've been short staffed due to absence, and somehow managed to remain composed and polite while dealing with her (I wouldn't have!). Well I have to say you should be ashamed of yourself, there's a right and a wrong way to bring up food issues with a restaurant and that certainly wasn't it, and a woman of your age should know better. What kind of nasty person makes a point of saying to staff you're taking food away to show someone how bad it is? The staff really couldn't have tried harder to make it right and you threw it back in their face. I hope you see this and realise what a show you made of yourself, and if you do dare leave a review we all know what kind of person you are and to ignore your pettiness.
I've been going to this restaurant with my family near enough once a month for maybe 3 years now, the food is always lovely, and I should know as I've nearly worked my way through the entire menu! If I was to criticise anything it's that I wish you had more Greek puddings, as I really miss galaktoboureko from when I was on holiday in Rhodes. :) Favourites are the Fish Medley and Chicken Skordo. Keep up the good...
Read moreReserved a table on Friday 6 June for 5:30. We haven't been for over six months. We arrived 10 minutes early. On arrival told by a waitress who wore glasses, ‘just sit anywhere’ which we did. Sat for 20 minutes and we’re completely ignored. Observed other guests arriving being shown to a table, napkins and cutlery presented and plates, drink orders taken and food orders. Eventually we caught the eye of a member of staff who took our drinks order, carafe of white wine. Waited again for 20 minutes for our drinks. Food order taken, whitebait, humus, afelia and chicken skordo. Waited again and whitebait and humus arrived and had to ask for cutlery and plates. Finished our starters and then waited and waited to have the table cleared. Our next course was delivered but only the Chicken Skordo. No other dishes. After fifteen minutes the Afelia arrived. Again no plates of cutlery, no salad, no chips or rice. Had to send the food back as it was cold and had to be reordered. After another 20 minute wait food was brought out. Food luke warm, cold plates and the Afelia was too salty. It was chaotic and we could see that the kitchen was spending mote time preparing takeaway meals rather than attending to guests in the restaurant. Manager knocked the cost of our off the bill, which was something. However, apart from the Whitebait which was good, it was a disappointing experience as it was a birthday celebration. We don’t know what has happened since our last visit but Eureka has certainly deteriorated. Our advice would be to avoid a Friday from 5:30...
Read moreNice place however the Greek music no one is listening to is way to loud, we where sat under the table by the speaker and due to the people around trying to shout over the music, it was impossible to talk at times, we asked them to lower it and she did, which was great, but was still loud, starters where amazing, lots of it and great taste. Then the main courses came x 3 chicken kebabs 1 x pork kebab and a mousake. The meat was dry and burnt, lacked seasoning and taste, endless amounts of rice and chips, which where nice, but none of the meat was edible, the mousaka was nice, we sent the kebabs back they where impossible to eat, chewy and tasteless..the lady did ask if we wanted anything else, but we where watching how long the meats had been on the grill and timed it 19 minutes ..way to long, so we refused, she did take the 3 chicken kebabs off the bill, so in terms of that, we where pleased, however the service for drinks is poor, and no one comes over after you are served to ask if its ok, we had to wait to get the ladies attention..we wanted to try it as we havent been since it moved from mertyl parade..and because our favourite greek was closed for holidays, We will never return and will wait patiently for the best Greek in liverpool ..Cypriana lark...
