My partner was turning 50 and we where looking at somewhere to hold his birthday meal, we had a gourmet dining card, we looked on their website for somewhere local as my partner and elderly father are both disabled. This restaurant came up it was local and also had a great deal on with the gourmet card offer. I rang over a week before to ask about the offer they said yes great, and also told we could bring our own drink and that there would be a corkage fee. We booked for 18 people and asked for two high chairs. The lady asked could I pay a deposit the next day. Which I did. We booked it for 7pm on Friday, we got there and there was not enough tables and chairs and no high chairs. We then showed the lady the gormet card at the beginning, she then proceeded to ring the owner and put me on the phone he said no we cant have the offer on the card..even though the offer said for 12 ppl and we had to buy from the bar. I explained that the this was told to us on the phone that I had rang the week before and they had taken my deposit knowing this. He began to become extremely rude saying well this is my business and I'm saying no. This was an upsetting situation and I felt he was becoming aggressive so the whole family decided to leave. They lost a lot of business that night as we had more soft drinkers than alcohol drinkers so the bar would of been used plenty. They make rules up as they go along and they also are dishonest. Please if you are thinking of going here please avoid. They watch us walk out with two disabled people who we had only just got into a chair. Totally...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe've ordered from Spice Brasserie a few times since lockdown and have been fine, nice enough to order several times in the last 4 years. Collected our order tonight and was asked to leave a Google review. Staff are always very smiley when we've been in to collect our orders in the past. We live about 10-15 mins from the restaurant and when we got home, we unpacked the bag and realised we were missing 2 naans. My husband rang the restaurant to let them know and they said they would send them out ASAP with the delivery driver. Whilst we kept our meals warm in the oven waiting for the naans, my husband ate his popadom (literally one popadom) with the mint dip and chutney. He said the mint dip is one of the nicest he's ever had, tasted very fresh. Time was ticking on and we thought we'll make a start on our meals as we were hungry and we'll take our time and the naans will be delivered whilst we're eating. We'd finished our meals by the time the naans had been delivered roughly 45 minutes after we called as said they were missing. Whilst I was collecting the order, you could hear all the online orders coming through and there were several delivery drivers coming in and out with other people's orders and this could have been a very easy mistake but was a bit...
