The Indian Kitchen Liverpool — Local services in Liverpool

On average I eat out 2-3 times per week, and Indian is always my go to and comfort food. Never ordered from here before and after seeing some good reviews, decided to order. I don't know if there was a different chef in tonight or what has happened but I can honestly say this was the worst Indian (possibly takeaway) I've ever eaten (barely) The fact we couldn't eat the chutney tray I think sums it up. The mint yoghurt tasted so strange, I'm sure the onion chutney is on the turn as its so dark in colour and packs a foul smell and taste The butter chicken main was so disappointing, no flavour or spice. We didn't even finish it just ate the chicken as we were so hungry. The bread was again tasteless and soggy. The chips were rock hard, chewy and tasted of old oil. The pilau rice was the star of the show 2/5 at best. Reading the reviews we couldn't wait to try a new Indian in the city but we've binned it and have ordered from another Indian we use often. I ordered Chilli Paneer through Uber Eats, which is clearly a vegetarian item, but was shocked to receive Chilli Chicken instead. This is not a minor mistake, especially for someone who follows a vegetarian diet.

When I called the restaurant, the guy who answered did apologize, but only once and then casually told me to "just ask for a refund on Uber Eats." There was no genuine concern, no offer to correct the mistake, and no real accountability. It felt like they just wanted to brush it off and move on.

First time ordering and definitely won't be the last. Ordered direct from the restaurant, was delivered exactly when expected, piping hot and delicious, hubby was dubious about ordering the chicken dansak cos it couldn't live up to his expectations, let's just say he devoured it and said its the best he's had, driver didn't have enough change but would go back the restaurant and get it, didn't expect him to come back, yet while we were tucking in to the amazing food he returned with our change.
