I recently visited the Adam & Eve in Mill Hill and, while the pub itself has a charming rustic feel, my overall experience was disappointing. Firstly, parking is very limited, which may be an issue for some visitors. Although the pub wasn’t particularly busy during my visit, the wait for food was excessively long. Unfortunately, the staff, while not outright rude, lacked warmth and did not acknowledge or apologise for the delay. When the food eventually arrived, it was underwhelming. The roast dinner, in particular, had small portion sizes that did not justify the price. The quality was average at best, making it difficult to justify the cost. The one redeeming feature of the pub was its cosy atmosphere, with board games available to pass the time. However, unless you have an entire afternoon to spare and don’t mind spending a premium on an unremarkable meal, I wouldn’t recommend it.

It was our first time at this place. Nice out door space and crisp Orchid thieves cider makes your hot weekend. Food and snack menus is limited though. Halloumi fries were nice but cold. chicken bites were ok. Trebbiano white wine was soft and fruity. They messed up our orders but kindly offered us some drinks on the house which was a nice gesture. Happy with the customer service. Overall slightly pricy for the quality. Having said that I will definitely give it another chance.

I think this place is under fairly new ownership, and it now has some really fantastic offerings for a local pub! My favourite are the £10 dinners (pie Mondays, steak Thursdays) and the quality of food punches miles above what you would expect for the price! Topped off with exceptionally friendly staff it’s now become my home from home, what a great local should be! If there is no parking free in the car park there is usually ample space on the ridgeway.

I went with my partner and our three boisterous boys. We eat out all the time and never look for trouble! We love good food and like tipping for good service. Ordering at the bar, vaguely disinterested staff started off a notably bad experience.

Our meals mostly came at different times. My roast was so cold, despite a plate too hot to handle had to be returned to the kitchen. The kids fish and chips had a portion of mushy peas which were minuscule. We’re talking half a container that typically ketchup comes in - less than a decent mouthful. Noticeable.

One of our boys is a bit of a picky eater and just wanted chicken burger and chips without a bun, no sauce. It came out once with a bun and was returned to the kitchen, then it reappeared without the bun, but had sauce on it. Server then left the chips, but took the chicken back. When the chicken finally reappeared (for the third time) literally all of us had finished eating and it was a half size portion In comparison to what had originally been served. When I complained to our server, he defensively pointed out he had not taken the original order (at the bar). I saw the server subsequently talking with a manager, the manager didn’t look even bother coming over to us. I even asked to speak with the manager but the server didn’t hear and by this time I’d lost the very will to live and we all left. I’m not sure if the Adam and Eve is under new management ( because we’ve happily eaten there before, in the summer), but this experience has put me off ever coming back. not a...

Went in for a relaxed Sunday lunch. The guy behind the bar really struggled to put in our food orders 2 starters. 4 mains - turns out he was the manager! The waitress bought the wrong starters to our table 1st off. The correct food came soon after. Not a disaster. However, 2 of the main courses arrived before we had finished our staters and so got cold. The other 2 never arrived! We were the 1st in the garden and got pretty frustrated when evryone got served their dishes - the same as we had ordered -1st. The waitress told us it was our fault as we had ordered seperately and showed me 2 orders. She seemed confused when I pointed out it was all ordered together and paid together. Not confused enough to apolgise though. The manager was alone behind the bar, although there seemed to be at least 3 waiting staff and it wasn't busy. When I came out to complain, 30 minutes after the 1st 2 mains arrived he asked me to go back in the garden and he would come out to sort a refund. 10 minutes later he was still serving behind the bar. His attitude was that things go wrong sometimes and seemed not to understand why. Basically tough sh1t! certainly not an apology. I demanded a refund, but he said he couldn't as I hadn't asked for a card receipt!!! I got a full refund from my credit card company. We went up the road to Michaels Cafe and the 2 hungry friends had a nice meal with...

I have been here a few times and have always enjoyed my food and the service. Once for a work lunch with people from another company, it was perfectly acceptable and makes for a nice change to getting dragged into town for some white linen table affair. Other times have all been with friends for lunch. The burgers here are blinking tasty, and they cook them well. Sunday roasts are also very well done. They have a great selection of drinks as well for you to chose from. If you are going here mid week, then normally you can get a table, if you are venturing here at the weekend for food, then I would recommend that you book ahead as it is always chocca. The atmosphere is never disappointing, although even on a weekend every table is full and people are nattering away, for some reason, this works and doesn't bother you or affect the experience that you are having. The staff are fantastic, and even when it is busy you don't have to wait long to get served a drink. They also have a quiz night on a Tuesday which is a hoot and everyone is welcome - you don't get the die hard quiz teams giving you evils for daring to enter!! My friends have also given it the thumbs up. It also is a place that you know people keep on going back to, it wouldn't survive if it wasn't as good as it is. Always a reliable location for good food and good service. Will return...
