This is a great fish & chips option.

I had Cod and chips for takeaway.

In my review I factor in price and competition in my scoring, this has made me raise my scoring higher than if I just reviewed this place just on its own merits.

Good size fish with a light and delicately flavoured batter. No thick stodgy batter here, this really is about as good as you will get from a chip shop. My fish was a bit overcooked (texture was decent but it was not moist), but it was still in good condition and a decent eat. So I would give this 4 stars based on that.

The chips are average quality fish chop chips. They could do with being a bit more crispy on the outside, however, it was a take away with salt and vinegar, and this needs to be factored in. I did enjoy the chips as part of the meal. I would give these a3 stars due to average status.

So the whole meal I would give 3.5/4 stars. But if I factor in the overall performance relative to the competition, I would put it at about 4.5 stars.

The food here is amazing and the staff are always happy and friendly.

The reason for 3 stars and not anymore is because the last few times I've gone, I've been overcharged.

I've challenged them once and was refunded. It's got to a point now I find it very awkward asking them to double check the overall price infront of other customers when i know I've again been overcharged.

Maybe it's time to invest in a new till that does all the calculations.

I will continue to go here as the food is the best locally by a country mile.

Busy local fish and chip shop. Ordered large cod, large chips, onion rings and goujons for £22. What we ordered was for two but would have been enough for three as we had chips and fish left over. The goujons and cod were enormous and the portions would have been enough for two people. All cooked to order and very fresh. Option to have matzo meal instead of batter. Noticed other menu items including burger in a bun for £1.20 or with cheese for £1.30. Also cod roe. Seemingly run by hard working people who take great pride in their food.
