Since new owner runns the restaurant the quality of food dropped significantly. Before that change I was a local regular satisfied customer and food was fresh with generous portions of chicken, salad and delicious home made humus. I've gave the restaurant few chance but I wasn't satisfied. Today our favourite Greenford Kebab was shut for holiday so after quick fought I get idea to give another try for Almahmud. Ordered 2 chicken shawarma set menu over the phone for collection. The young stuff welcomed me warmly and after few minutes my order was ready. At home opened the container to discover small portion of not fresh sald, humus which was kind of thin and tasteless/sour, tabulah looks like was made yesterday, only portion of rice was generous, the chicken portion was kinda sprinkled over the rice (nothing like i remember) , the garlic sauce was good but... chill sauce was out of date definitely, once opened smal container the gas from sauce was released and started bubbling that was sign to not eat it. Ended up with food that was far from original taste i remember. Unfortunately I'm very disappointed of served food. I've gave few chance to Almahmud but now I'm sure that good days of this restaurant are gone. My only advice is to order personally and check the freshness of products as this is the key of tasty and good food which was served...
Read moreI'm quite dubious to understand how a restaurant of this calibre can get so many top reviews unless it is poated by their close friends.
So, I wanted to try a decent Lebanese cuisine around the local area so whipped up the good ol' Google maps and searched for a place based on decent reviews and photos, this seemed to stand out the most.
Houmous - very bitter with no zest, I would have preferred it if they would just throw in Tesco houmous as that was much more tastier.
Fresh bakery - bakery was closed so ended up having the cheap pitta wraps every Arab shop sells.
Chicken Livers - oh man oh man, we simply returned the whole dish as it smelt very rancid and vulgar due to the livers not being cleaned properly. Deffo avoid.
Garlic sauce - the viscosity was not consistent at all, blocks of curd floating around in oil.
Kofte Kebab - burnt and salty.
Soujouk - dry and served in lemon water without any sauce.
I could go on and on but I'll rather keep it short and succinct as it may appear that I am deliberately trying to get these guys out of business.
Personally I will never visit again unless they consider revamping their whole recipe strategy but it's a place ok for families who have no idea about quality cooking and lost...
Read moreIf you’re looking for authentic Lebanese manakish and traditional Middle Eastern bakery items, Al Mahmud is a real hidden gem in Greenford. The menu is wide and varied, from simple za’atar and halloumi manakish to freshly grilled meats, shawarma, and mezze.
The bakery section is outstanding – the dough is always fresh, soft yet crisp, and generously topped. The za’atar manakish is perfectly balanced, and the lahem bel ajeen (minced lamb) is full of flavor. You can taste the freshness in everything.
The restaurant itself is spacious, clean, and welcoming, with a family-friendly atmosphere. Service is warm and efficient, and the staff are happy to recommend dishes if you’re unsure what to try.
Whether you want a quick bite, a family meal, or to take home some bakery treats, Al Mahmud delivers excellent quality at fair prices. Definitely one of the best spots in West London for authentic Lebanese food. Highly...
