Arawak Caribbean Street Food — Restaurant in London

Me and my other half ordered the peppered steak and 2 beef patties to take away,the staff were friendly and the shop was clean and tidy. The peppered steak was very spicy,how I like it and the portion size was good.They forgot to pack our beef patties so I rang the shop and told them,they were apologetic and promised on our next visit they would rectify this 😀, would recommend and will be visiting them again.So today,Saturday the 24th of Feb,2024 we decided to order again,this time my husband went and ordered our dinner1 curry chicken with rice and peas and 1 pepper steak with rice and peas and 2 lamb patties, these were NOT large meals....grand total 28 pounds! We would be very happy to pay this price if the food was plentiful, tasty etc,the peppered steak was tiny slivers in a huge amount of gravy,which was tasty,but all all gravy! The chicken curry only tasted of salt,no heat or spice and was sitting in the most watery liquid ever....not even gravy,with potatoes and carrot.I am hugely sorry for my husband who went and ordered and paid for it! My husband's mother is jamaican and I'm. Sorry to say but she would have shaken her head at what we got served,highly disappointed on...

First time at Arawak even though living mere minutes away and we are so happy we decided to dine. We ordered a cheesy beef patty, chicken patty, lamb patty, 3 fried dumplings, lamb neck soup, curry goat with rice and peas, the shredded jerk chicken salad bowl and 4 fried wings with fries and OH WOW. From someone who has had true authentic caribbean food from the islands themself, I couldn’t have been happier with the flavour, portion sizes and PRICE. This had to be some of the BEST caribbean food i’ve ever had. The salad bowl was fresh, NOT soggy at all with properly barbecued jerk chicken. The curry goat was falling apart, so tender and the lamb neck soup was tried by the whole house and is now a new favourite. The youngest of the house has never been a fan of caribbean food but LOVED all the dishes. The staff were also FANTASTIC, so friendly, welcoming and honest.
